The content of DNA and proteins has been studied morphometrically in intraoperative biopsies of patients of different ages with congenital heart diseases and rheumatic mitral stenosis. Hemodynamic hyperfunction provoked premature polyploidy of cardiomyocytes nuclei in children with congenital vitium cordis. In cardiomyocytes of 20-50-year-old patients with acquired vitium cordis polyploidy with an increasing age does not occur, but a decline in protein synthesis and intracellular edema are observed.

The prognostic significance of DNA ploidy measurements in cervical tissues was examined. Microphotometric measurements of 302 Feulgen-stained tissue sections (91 normal squamous epithelia, 14 condylomata, 29 cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) I, 78 CIN II, and 90 CIN III) were performed with a personal computer (PC)-based video microphotometry system. This study describes, for the first time, the relationship between morphology and ploidy in domestic cat embryos. Blastocyst morphology and quality were assessed using time-lapse recordings, while ploidy was analyzed using fluorescence in situ hybridization. AIMS: Serrated adenoma (SA) is a relatively newly defined entity of colorectal neoplasm. In this study, we examined the cell proliferation, DNA ploidy, and clinicopathological features of SA in order to investigate its biological features.

We compared the DNA content (DI) by cell image analysis with the karyotype and morphological phenotype of paraffin-embedded tissues from 51 spontaneous abortions. Thymus is one of the most important genera of the Lamiaceae family. This work was performed to assess inter and intra species variation, which is an indispensable prerequisite for the selection and the exploitation of the germplasm, using yield, secondary metabolites, and ploidy level criteria.
