BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVE: Although the increasing prevalence of hypospadias has been reported in many countries, there is a lack of bibliometric studies that make a holistic assessment of the publications about this issue. This study aims to make a holistic evaluation, latest developments, and trend topics about hypospadias publications between 1980 and 2018 through bibliometric analysis.
METHODS: All the publications about hypospadias published in the Web of Science index between 1980 and 2018 were downloaded and analyzed using bibliometric methods. The Spearman's correlation coefficient was uti

BACKGROUND: Campylobacter species are widespread zoonotic pathogens. Campylobacter jejuni causes a form of gastroenteritis called campylobacteriosis. Campylobacter drug resistance is considered a serious threat. In order to better understand national and international research output on Campylobacter, we conducted this bibliometric overview of publications on Campylobacter. This study can be used to assess extent of interaction and response of researchers, food regulators, and health policy makers to global burden of campylobacateriosis.

In this country, expertise of the corpses of subjects who died from various forms of asphixia is the third, after mechanical injury and intoxication, most frequent procedure in the forensic medical practice. Asphixia may be either violent (i.e. caused by a variety of external factors) or non-violent (resulting from the disturbances of intra-tissue respiration). According to the statistical data accumulated by the Russian State Forensic Expertise Facilities for the period from 2009 till 2013, the examination of the corpses of subjects who died from various forms of asphyxia accounts for 23.9-24

OBJECTIVE: To examine the shorthand publications of Sir William Richard Gowers.
BACKGROUND: Gowers developed an almost obsessional interest in Pitman shorthand. During the later part of his active career (1894-1910), the bulk of his professional writing, comprising nearly 100 articles, was printed entirely in Pitman shorthand in the Phonographic Record of Clinical Teaching and Medical Science. The obscurity and rarity of this periodical, and the increasingly arcane nature of Pitman shorthand, has left the bulk of these articles "buried in obscurity and locked up in code" (M. Critchley, 1949).

PURPOSE: Research in wrist surgery has advanced considerably, yet objective metrics of innovation remain limited. The disruption index (DI) offers a quantitative framework to identify papers that redirect scientific attention toward new directions, which traditional bibliometrics may overlook. Within this framework, this study aimed to examine trends in disruptive research over time. We hypothesized that DI would not correlate with citation count.
METHODS: A retrospective bibliometric analysis was performed using PubMed with wrist-specific search terms and limited to 14 selected orthopedic an

BACKGROUND: In response to the COVID-19 pandemic many clinical studies have been initiated leading to the need for efficient ways to track and analyze study results. We expanded our previous project that tracked registered COVID-19 clinical studies to also track result articles generated from these studies. Our objective was to develop a data science approach to identify and analyze all publications linked to COVID-19 clinical studies and generate a prioritized list of publications for efficient understanding of the state of COVID-19 clinical research.
METHODS: We conducted searches of Clinic

Evidence-based recommendations for clinical practice are intended to help health care providers and patients make decisions, minimize inappropriate practice variation, promote effective resource use, improve clinical outcomes, and direct future research. The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) has been engaged in the creation and dissemination of clinical guidance documents since the 1990s. These documents are a cornerstone of the society's education, advocacy, and quality improvement initiatives. The publications committee is charged with oversight of SCAI's clinic

The world of infectious diseases, for various reasons, before and after the COVID-19 pandemic, capture the attention of the scientific community, either due to the epidemiological data of various microbial agents that are emerging, due to the implementation with successful results of new diagnostic strategies or due to the appearance of new therapeutic options, which encourage healthcare workers to continue on the front line. Topics such as antimicrobial resistance, S. aureus bacteremia, clostridioides difficile, short treatments for tuberculosis, prosthetic joint infection or invasive fungal

Ankyloglossia superior syndrome is a rare malformation that consists of a fibrous or osseous connection between the tip of the tongue and the hard palate, and additional congenital anomalies such as cleft palate, gastrointestinal malformations, and deformed limbs. We present the case of a 5-year-old boy with ankyloglossia superior syndrome that comprised the complete complex malformation. We reviewed previous publications and summarise the different theories of its genesis.
