Outcome of real-time telescreening for retinopathy of prematurity using videoconferencing in a community setting in Eastern India.

PURPOSE: To evaluate the feasibility and outcome of a real-time retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) telescreening strategy using videoconferencing in a community setting in India. METHOD: In a prospective study, trained allied ophthalmic personnel obtained the fundus images in the presence of the parents and local childcare providers. Analysis of images and parental counseling were done in real time by an ROP specialist located at a tertiary center using videoconferencing software. A subset of babies was also examined using bedside indirect ophthalmoscopy by an ROP care-trained ophthalmologist.

Videoconferencing-delivered psychotherapy for obsessive-compulsive disorder in low-resource settings: A pilot study from India.

BACKGROUND: Psychological treatments such as exposure and response prevention (ERP) or cognitive behavioral therapy are effective in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), either on their own or in combination with medications. However, very few patients receive ERP or cognitive behavioral therapy. Digital-delivered psychotherapy can surmount many obstacles associated with conventional psychotherapy, but there are very few trials of videoconferencing (VC) delivered ERP for OCD, particularly from low-resource settings. AIM: To examine the VC-delivered ERP's feasibility, acceptability, efficacy,

Videoconferencing platforms for sexualised drug use among men who have sex with men: a scoping review.

This scoping review aimed to identify and synthesise the extant literature regarding the use of videoconferencing platforms by gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men to participate in sexualised drug use (SDU). Initial comprehensive database searches were conducted in September 2023 (and updated in November 2024). Backwards and forward citation chasing, journal hand searching, and contact with key opinion leaders supplemented database searches. Results and data extraction were completed in duplicate, and data synthesised narratively. Four records were included in the final synthesis

Management of urinary incontinence in older women using videoconferencing versus conventional management: a randomized controlled trial.

We compared telemedicine with a conventional outpatient continence service (CS) in community-dwelling older women with urge or stress incontinence. After an initial biofeedback-assisted pelvic floor muscle training session, subjects were randomized to behavioural training for eight weeks via the CS (n = 27) or a telemedicine continence programme (TCP) (n = 31). Participants in both treatment groups experienced significant improvement in their symptoms, namely, a reduction in the number of daily incontinence episodes (P<0.001) and voiding frequency (P<0.001), while the volume of urine at each m

Accessible assessment of motor and cognitive symptoms in Parkinson's disease: integrating large datasets, machine-learning, and videoconferencing.

In-person motor and cognitive assessments for Parkinson's disease(PD) face accessibility, scalability, and geographical diversity challenges. We aimed to address these by integrating large datasets, machine learning (ML), and videoconferencing. We developed the Motor and Cognitive Videoconference(MaC-VC) protocol, allowing non-experts to remotely administer the MDS-UPDRS III and MoCA tests. In this cross-sectional study, we administered MaC-VC to 145 participants from 60+ geographical locations and compared the results with a large (n = 1264), expert-rated, in-person assessments from the PPMI

Therapist adherence to manualized cognitive-behavioral therapy for anger management delivered to veterans with PTSD via videoconferencing.

Therapist adherence to a manualized cognitive-behavioral anger management group treatment (AMT) was compared between therapy delivered via videoconference (VC) and the traditional in-person modality, using data from a large, randomized controlled trial comparing the effectiveness of AMT for veterans with combat-related posttraumatic stress disorder. Therapist adherence was rated for the presence or absence of process and content treatment elements. Secondary analyses were conducted using a repeated measures ANOVA. Overall adherence to the protocol was excellent (M = 96%, SD = 1%). Findings ind

Making the Connection: Using Videoconferencing to Increase Linkage to Care for Incarcerated Persons Living with HIV Post-release.

Incarcerated persons living with HIV (PLWH) have relatively high levels of HIV care engagement and antiretroviral therapy adherence during incarceration, but few are able to maintain these levels upon reentry into the community. In Louisiana, PLWH nearing release from prisons were offered video conferences with case managers housed in community based organizations aimed at facilitating linkage to care in the community. Of the 144 persons who received a video conference during the study period, 74.3% had linked to HIV care in the community within 90 days after release. Compared to the compariso
