AIM: The study aimed to use power Doppler imaging (PDI) transanal ultrasonography to produce three-dimensional power Doppler angiography images of haemorrhoidal tissue and to monitor the effects of Doppler-guided aluminium potassium sulfate and tannic acid (DGALTA) sclerotherapy.
METHOD: Ninety-six haemorrhoids in 43 patients were examined using PDI transanal ultrasonography, and DGALTA sclerotherapy was performed from April 2011 to April 2012. DGALTA sclerotherapy was conducted using a four-step injection process with pulse wave Doppler ultrasound under perianal local anaesthesia.

This study aimed at analysing the outcomes of laser hemorrhoidoplasty (LHP) in a 2-year period. LHP was carried out in 77 patients (83% of them had grade III or grade IV) treated over a two-year period. INTRODUCTION: Circular mucosal anopexy (CMA) achieves a more comfortable postoperative period than resective techniques. But complications and recurrences are not infrequent. This study aims to evaluate of the efficacy of CMA in the treatment of hemorrhoids and rectal mucosal prolapse (RMP).
METHOD: From 1999 to 2011, 613 patients underwent surgery for either hemorrhoids or RMP in our hospital. CMA was performed in 327 patients. Gender distribution was 196 male and 131 female. Hemorrhoidal grades were distributed as follows: 28 patients had RMP, 46 2nd grade, 146 3rd grade and 107 4th grade.
