ShadowFormer++: multi-scale shadow priors and diffusion-guided refinement for high-fidelity shadow removal.

Shadows in images cause significant challenges for computer vision applications as they degrade image quality and hinder tasks such as object detection, visual tracking, and semantic segmentation. Existing shadow removal methods often struggle as they fail to localize shadow regions accurately without suppressing non-shadow areas; they tend to lose fine-grained textures and illumination consistency across boundaries, and they also demand heavy computation that limits their use in real-time or resource constrained systems. To address these limitations, we propose a novel framework called Shadow

False data injection attack resilient distributed exponential sliding mode consensus protocol for discrete multi-agent system.

This paper proposes a False Data Injection (FDI) attack resilient Distributed Exponential Sliding Mode Consensus (DESMC) protocol for Discrete Multi-Agent Systems (DMASs). By explicitly modeling FDI attacks on communication weights, this work extends resilient consensus theory beyond conventional sensor- and actuator-focused approaches, establishing a broader foundation for cyber-physical security to DMASs. A distributed Unknown Input Observer (UIO) is used to detect the FDI attack on the communication link in DMASs. The UIO residual triggers the switching between the sliding surface for norma

Lightweight 3D Multi-Object Tracking via Collaborative Camera and LiDAR Sensors.

With the widespread adoption of camera and LiDAR sensors, 3D multi-object tracking (MOT) technology has been extensively applied across numerous fields such as robotics, autonomous driving, and surveillance. However, existing 3D MOT methods still face significant challenges in addressing issues such as false detections, ghost trajectories, incorrect associations, and identity switches. To address these challenges, we propose a lightweight 3D multi-object tracking framework via collaborative camera and LiDAR sensors. Firstly, we design a confidence inverse normalization guided ghost trajectorie

Camouflaged nanorobots target and regulate macrophage subcellular organelle crosstalk patterns to promote neural regeneration.

Macrophage (Mφ) phenotypic transformation is crucial in determining spinal cord injury (SCI) outcomes. However, the suborganelle crosstalk mechanisms-particularly between the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and mitochondria-that mediate Mφ subgroup conversion during SCI remain underexplored. We aim to integrate niche intervention strategies and omics sequencing to investigate the effects of the metabolic crosstalk between ER stress (ERS) and mitochondria. Subsequently, we develop a dual-targeted camouflaged nanorobot (BP@D/N) that can reach the SCI site via systemic circulation and selectively inte

Parathyroid Surgery for Primary Hyperparathyroidism in 2026.

Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) is the most common parathyroid disease and one of the most common endocrine disorders. It results from autonomous overproduction of parathyroid hormone, which in the classic form of the disease causes hypercalcaemia. The ready access to biochemical testing in high-income countries has moved the disease spectrum from a classic symptomatic presentation to a biochemical anomaly that is asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic. Untreated PHPT, however, remains associated with significant consequences. This review summarizes up-to-date concepts in the diagnosis, imag

HBEVOcc: Height-Aware Bird's-Eye-View Representation for 3D Occupancy Prediction from Multi-Camera Images.

Due to the ability to perceive fine-grained 3D scenes and recognize objects of arbitrary shapes, 3D occupancy prediction plays a crucial role in vision-centric autonomous driving and robotics. However, most existing methods rely on voxel-based methods, which inevitably demand a large amount of memory and computing resources. To address this challenge and facilitate more efficient 3D occupancy prediction, we propose HBEVOcc, a Bird's-Eye-View based method for 3D scene representation with a novel height-aware deformable attention module, which can effectively leverage latent height information w

Light Intensity-Driven Bidirectional Photoresponse Vision Sensor for Autonomous Obstacle Avoidance System.

Bio-inspired vision sensors emulating neural-pathway processing hold significant promise for next-generation robotics and artificial intelligence. However, achieving biomimetic threat-distance adaptation, where escape initiation dynamically calibrates to looming object proximity within a single device as in insect neural circuits, remains challenging for bionic vision systems implementations. Herein, we present a vision sensor based on a 2D PVK/h-BN/MoS2/h-BN/2D PVK heterostructure that achieves full dynamic emulation of insect phototactic/scototactic behaviors. The core innovation is symmetri

LiDAR-Based Safety Envelope Detection with Accelerometer and DTW for Intrusion Localization in Roller Coasters.

Autonomous vehicles, submersible robotic systems and drones, and other human-carrying equipment consistently adhere to a safety perimeter, ensuring collision-free navigation amidst surrounding objects. In contrast, roller coaster vehicles, despite being constrained to a predetermined track, necessitate frequent safety distance detection owing to the variability introduced by trees and decorative installations. Passengers' limbs may protrude beyond vehicle boundaries, posing a collision hazard. The motion range of limbs, influenced by vehicle-specific conditions, mismatches standardized safety

From the operating room to the cloud: the evolving continuum from live surgical broadcasting to remote tele-surgery.

In the last four decades, the transmission of a live surgical operation to a remote audience has evolved from closed-circuit educational broadcast into a fully remote, robot-assisted surgery performed across different continents. This review maps that journey systematically, defining a six-rung Digital Surgical Spectrum - from passive live broadcast to artificial-intelligence-augmented autonomous surgery - grounding each stage in published clinical evidence across multiple surgical domains. We demonstrate that each rung of this spectrum is no longer theoretical. Live broadcasts have reached au
