BACKGROUND: Urinary incontinence imposes a significant health and economic burden to society. Periurethral or transurethral injection of bulking agents is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used as one the surgical treatments of stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in adult women.
OBJECTIVES: To assess the effects of periurethral or transurethral injection therapy on the cure or improvement of urinary incontinence in women.
SEARCH METHODS: We searched the Cochrane Incontinence Group Specialised Trials Register (searched 8 November 2010) and the reference lists of relevant articles.

STUDY QUESTION: What is the influence of dietary interventions, namely the low fermentable oligo-, di-, mono-saccharides, and polyols (Low FODMAP) diet and endometriosis diet, on endometriosis-related pain and quality of life (QoL) compared to a control group?
SUMMARY ANSWER: After adhering to a dietary intervention for 6 months, women with endometriosis reported less pain and an improved QoL compared to baseline whereas, compared to the control group, they reported less bloating and a better QoL in 3 of 11 domains.

Multiple myeloma is a cancer which is characterized by proliferation of malignant B-cells and plasma cell infiltration of bone marrow. Lytic lesions are one of its hallmarks, on radiological assessment. We report 2 cases who presented within 1 year to our hospital with bony lytic lesions on CT scan. They were investigated for multiple myeloma; however, there were no further features to suggest this. Both patients were confirmed to have prostate cancer. This is unusual as prostate cancer produces sclerotic lesions (unusual hardening or thickening of the bone).

Systemic mastocytosis (SM) is a heterogeneous group of disorders caused by mast cell proliferation. SM often presents with non-specific symptoms making it a diagnostic challenge. Moreover, presentation with bone involvement is highly uncommon. Here, we report a rare case of SM in a 68-year-old female who initially presented with gastrointestinal symptoms and was later found to have sclerotic bone lesions on imaging. This case highlights an unusual presentation of SM, informing clinicians of the importance of keeping this disease process on the differential list of diagnostic conundrums.
