Research on Train-Induced Vibration of High-Speed Railway Station with Different Structural Forms.

Elevated stations are integral components of urban rail transit systems, significantly impacting passengers' travel experience and the operational efficiency of the transportation system. However, current elevated station designs often do not sufficiently consider the structural dynamic response under various operating conditions. This oversight can limit the operational efficiency of the stations and pose potential safety hazards. Addressing this issue, this study establishes a vehicle-bridge-station spatial coupling vibration simulation model utilizing the self-developed software GSAP V1.0,

Hyperpolarization-activated cation channels confer tonotopic specialization for temporal encoding of sound frequency in the cochlear nucleus.

Sensory neurons are endowed with physiological characteristics that facilitate accurate signal extraction from stimuli. The functional importance of such properties is exemplified in auditory neurons where intrinsic excitability is optimized to detect frequency-specific features. In birds, the neurons of nucleus magnocellularis (NM) receive primary auditory inputs that are spatially arranged according to best frequency, or 'tonotopically.' Several physiological properties vary systematically along NM's tonotopic axis. Gradients of voltage-gated channels shape temporal response selectivity enab

Clinical Application of Just-in-Time Training to Support Resident Learning and Success in Neonatal Intubation.

BACKGROUND: Neonatal intubation (NI) requires technical skill and can cause life-threatening complications when performed improperly. Trainee success at NI is substandard, and nearly half of graduating trainees do not achieve the desired competency by the end of residency. This issue will likely worsen with the new ACGME rules that allow fewer intensive care rotations. The study objective was to evaluate if structured just-time-time-training (JITT) utilizing a high-fidelity neonatal mannequin was feasible and effective in a clinical environment and could improve trainee NI success. We hypothes

Psychological and behavioral changes during confinement in a 520-day simulated interplanetary mission to mars.

Behavioral health risks are among the most serious and difficult to mitigate risks of confinement in space craft during long-duration space exploration missions. We report on behavioral and psychological reactions of a multinational crew of 6 healthy males confined in a 550 m(3) chamber for 520 days during the first Earth-based, high-fidelity simulated mission to Mars. Rest-activity of crewmembers was objectively measured throughout the mission with wrist-worn actigraphs. Once weekly throughout the mission crewmembers completed the Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II), Profile of Moods State

First-in-human evaluation of real-time pixel-level AI-assisted anatomical segmentation in neurosurgery: pituitary surgery as an exemplar.

INTRODUCTION: Precise anatomical navigation is fundamental to safe endoscopic pituitary surgery, a high-stakes procedure characterised by a challenging learning curve. While traditional navigation systems often rely on workflow-disrupting probes or static preoperative imaging, advancements in computer vision AI (CVAI) now enable dynamic, real-time pixel-level anatomical segmentation directly from live surgical video. Our group has previously conducted a series of preclinical human-computer interaction studies to refine the system's design, alongside digital and high-fidelity physical simulatio

Dynamic background motion object semantic segmentation algorithm based on generative adversarial network and transformer collaboration.

Semantic segmentation of moving objects in dynamic backgrounds faces core challenges such as background interference and blurred target features. This study proposes an innovative architecture that integrates Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) with Transformers. The GAN module enhances adaptability to dynamic backgrounds through adversarial training, while the self-attention mechanism in the Transformer captures long-range semantic dependencies. A gated fusion strategy is designed to achieve dynamic balancing of multimodal features. The method employs a conditional GAN to generate dynamic ba

Machine Learning-Based Reduced-Order Prediction of Rupture-Related Hemodynamics in Cerebral Aneurysms with Surface Blebs: A Pilot Study.

Cerebral aneurysm rupture is strongly associated with localized hemodynamic abnormalities, particularly in aneurysms containing surface blebs that represent structurally weakened regions of the vessel wall. Although computational fluid dynamics (CFD) provides detailed insight into aneurysm hemodynamics, its high computational cost limits its application in rapid patient-specific risk assessment. This pilot study presents a POD-LSTM reduced-order framework for the analysis and temporal prediction of CFD-derived hemodynamics in patient-specific cerebral aneurysms with surface blebs. Four patient

Deep learning-based intraluminal gas modeling for anatomically accurate synthetic CT in MRI-based radiation therapy.

Purpose.Accurate modeling of intraluminal gas in synthetic computed tomography (sCT) is often compromised by the stochastic nature of bowel and rectal gas, which complicates magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)/CT deformable image registration (DIR) and necessitates time-consuming manual corrections. Here, we propose a novel, DIR-free, two-stage deep learning framework designed to improve the definition of intraluminal gas in sCT. By circumventing registration-based errors, this method aims to streamline MRI-only simulation and enhance the dosimetric reliability of sCT images in MRI-based radiothe

Star detection for low-altitude atmospheric star trackers.

Celestial navigation provides an alternative to global navigation satellite systems (GNSSs) for uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs), particularly in environments where GNSS signals are denied. However, traditional star detection methods can be ineffective for low-altitude atmospheric flight due to factors such as motion blur, clouds, and light sources. This paper addresses the challenge of robust star detection under these highly dynamic and noisy conditions. We propose a novel, to our knowledge, two-stage deep learning architecture that fundamentally departs from traditional single-frame spatial

Real-time prediction of trauma-induced coagulopathy using an inverted transformer (trauma-former): a methodological feasibility and simulation study based on the ADEMP framework.

BACKGROUND: Trauma-induced coagulopathy (TIC) is a leading cause of preventable mortality following severe injury, yet prehospital recognition is fundamentally constrained by the limited sensitivity of static vital-sign metrics. Although fifth-generation (5G) wireless technology theoretically enables continuous biosignal transmission, robust computational frameworks for streaming risk prediction remain underdeveloped and largely unvalidated. To address this methodological gap, this study presents Trauma-Former, an inverted Transformer (iTransformer) architecture for real-time TIC prediction, t

Promoting a Multidisciplinary Team for Early Mobilisation in Mechanically Ventilated Patients: An Innovation in Health Professional Education-A Quasi-Experimental Pre-Post Study.

BACKGROUND: Early mobilisation (EM) in mechanically ventilated (MV) patients is a safe and feasible, evidence-based practice with positive health outcomes. It decreases intensive care unit (ICU)-acquired weakness and delirium, hospital length of stay, duration of mechanical ventilation, readmissions and billings, morbidity and mortality. It improves the physical and mental health of critically ill patients. Healthcare professionals' education and readiness are key in establishing EM for practice. Although it is practised in many high-income countries, it has not yet been introduced as a standa

Geometry adaptive projection-domain deep scatter estimation for multi-source semi-stationary cone-beam computed tomography.

BACKGROUND: Cone-beam computed tomography with multi-source arrays and curved-panel detectors in stationary or semi-stationary configurations (sCBCT) has shown promise for compact, point-of-care imaging systems. Such geometries are subject to high-magnitude, x-ray scatter with complex spatial structure, and variation between source elements. This impedes the use of traditional projection-domain scatter estimators, while reconstruction artifacts hinder volume-based scatter estimators. PURPOSE: In this work, we propose adaptive deep scatter estimation (ADSE), an adaptive projection-domain scatt
