BACKGROUND: Chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) is a rare, malignant, clonal hematopoietic disorder with features of both myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN). It is classified as MDS/MPN overlap syndrome by the World Health Organization (WHO), and the prognosis is generally poor. Solid tumors are rarely associated with or are secondary to CMML.

BACKGROUND: Epidermoid and dermoid tumors in the sellar region are rare. These cystic lesions are a surgical challenge, as the thin capsule adheres firmly to nearby structures. A case series of 15 patients is presented.

A 20-year-old woman was admitted with iron deficiency anemia and history of melena. Upper endoscopy demonstrated normal esophagus, stomach and proximal duodenum. We report a rare case of an epidermoid cyst in the intrapancreatic accessory spleen with producing CA19-9. A 42-year-old woman was referred to department of internal medicine of our hospital due to growing cystic lesion at the pancreatic tail. We describe our initial experience of a method which develops the role of endoscopic surgery in the treatment of early prostatic carcinoma. An "extended" transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) under ultrasound control reduces the prostatic tissue to a thin residual capsule suitable for subsequent transmural coagulation by endoscopic YAG laser. Twenty patients with early disease were entered into the pilot study.
