The regulation of plasma beta-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (beta-MSH) in man has been studied utilizing a radioimmunoassay previously described (1). Ecstasy is the popular name of the abuse drug 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) that decreases immunity in animals. The mechanisms that generate such alterations are still controversial.
