Corneal Drawings: An Important Tool in Documentation.

Schematic diagrams have been an important tool in ophthalmology for a long time. Corneal drawings help record and monitor corneal pathologies. These aid in comparing the clinical course of disease on follow-up visits and act as standardised means of communication between Ophthalmologists globally. They are essential for teaching postgraduates and are also useful in medicolegal cases. The corneal pathologies are documented in both frontal view and cross-sectional (slit) view. There is a universally accepted set of six colour codes for portraying them, namely, red, blue, black, brown, green and

Polymethyl Methacrylate Intraocular Lenses as Substitute for Gold Weight in Lagophthalmos Surgery: A Case Report.

INTRODUCTION: Paralytic lagophthalmos, typically resulting from facial nerve palsy, causes incomplete eyelid closure, leading to severe ocular surface desiccation, exposure keratopathy, and potential vision loss. Gold weight implantation remains the surgical standard of care for restoring gravity-assisted eyelid closure. However, the cost of gold often creates a significant barrier to treatment, particularly in developing nations or for patients without adequate insurance coverage, necessitating the exploration of affordable, readily available alternatives. CASE: A 41-year-old woman developed

Schwannoma of the Caruncle.

INTRODUCTION: Schwannomas, typically benign, encapsulated tumours arising from peripheral nerve sheaths, are commonly found in the orbit but are exceptionally rare in the caruncle. Here, a unique case of caruncular schwannoma is reported in an adolescent male who presented with gradual, painless swelling over a two-year period. This rarity emphasises the need to consider schwannomas in the differential diagnosis of caruncular masses. CASE: An 18-year-old male presented with a two-year history of progressively enlarging swelling adjacent to the right lacrimal caruncle, without associated sympt
