Sarcoidosis, a multifaceted systemic disorder characterized histologically by the presence of non-caseating granulomas, has a wide array of cutaneous manifestations. We describe a case of a 74-year-old woman with a complex medical history, who presented with asymptomatic hyperpigmented papules on her lower extremities. Histological examination of a punch biopsy specimen showed nodular and angiocentric patterns of granulomatous inflammation consistent with sarcoidosis, and chest radiography demonstrated bilateral hilar opacities, supporting the diagnosis. To our knowledge, this specific cutaneo

Angiokeratomas consist of ectasias of dermal capillaries associated with an acanthotic and hyperkeratotic overlying epidermis. These dark red-to-purple, papular vascular anomalies can vary considerably in size, depth, and location. It is a skin disorder that rarely involves oral cavity. It can occur in localized or generalized form and is often associated with underlying metabolic disorder such as Fabry's disease and fucosidosis. It has many clinical variants with the same underlying histopathology. Mucosal involvement, including the oral cavity, is occasionally found either as a component of

Angiokeratomas are benign mucocutaneous lesions which are composed of enlarged veins in the dermis of the skin. Although angiokeratomas may be part of a systemic disease, it is important to distinguish them from other vascular lesions. In this report, we present a rare case of angiokeratoma of the nasal vestibule. To our knowledge, this is the first nasal angiokeratoma case in the literature. The diagnostic and treatment features of this case and the association of angiokeratoma with systemic diseases like Fabry disease were discussed.

Angioma serpiginosum is a rare benign vascular disorder usually beginning in childhood. It is characterized clinically by multiple minute, bright red to purple, grouped macules and histopathologically by an ectatic dilatation of capillaries. Angiokeratoma of the vulva is an uncommon lesion occurring in older women. It consists of purple papular lesions measuring less than 1 cm in diameter and characterizing histopathologically by hyperkeratosis, papillomatosis, acanthosis, and dilated vasculature in the papillary dermis.

A 26-year-old man presented to the emergency department after a spontaneous 30 min bleed from his scrotal skin. He showed no other symptoms and denied any past medical history. He was exclusively sexually active, systemically well and haemodynamically stable. There were numerous (>50) 1-2 mm dark red, erythematous papules over the scrotum, sparing the shaft of penis, inner thigh and abdomen. A small area of blood marked the bleeding spot as a single papule. A diagnosis of angiokeratoma of the scrotum (Fordyce) was made and potential precipitants such as intra-abdominal masses, urinary tract tu

Two men presented with asymptomatic diffuse redness of the scrotum. Examination showed angiokeratoma of Fordyce (AF), an associated finding. In our practice, AF and diffuse scrotal redness co-occur in 50% of patients. Providing reassurance to the patient is appropriate if this clinical link is detected.

Two cases of angiokeratoma corporis diffusum with mental retardation and some features of a mucopolysaccharidosis have been investigated biochemically, histopathologically, and by electron microscopy. It is submitted, on this evidence, that they are examples of a hitherto undescribed form of lysosomal enzyme deficiency disease.

Many patients have a few scattered angiokeratoma and we reassure them that this it is normal; however, if they are numerous, Fabry disease should be considered and the family history should be checked.

Angiokeratomas of the vulva are uncommon, benign vascular lesions that are generally located on the labia. However, the clitoris is an extremely rare location, with only three published cases. We report a case of clitoral angiokeratoma in a 22-year-old nulligravida with a history of surgery to remove a clitoral mass at 6 years of age. The case described herein is distinguished from the other case reports by an accompanying varicose structure involving the vulva.

Several types of vascular anomalies have been described in patients with Turner syndrome, including cutaneous lymphatic malformations, vascular anomalies of the heart and aorta, acral venous malformations, and intestinal vascular anomalies. Angiokeratomas have rarely been reported in patients with Turner syndrome. Here, we describe a 14-year-old girl with Turner syndrome who presented with a 2-year history of tender bluish-black keratotic acral papules. Biopsy showed acral skin with focal epidermal acanthosis that was centered on a dilated superficial vessel, consistent with an angiokeratoma.

Angiokeratoma circumscriptum is an uncommon vascular entity. The lesion is present at birth and usually involves the lower extremities. A 9-year-old girl presented with multiple pink-colored, small-raised lesions in the dorsal part of her tongue, which had been present since birth. There was no history of trauma, cold injury, or similar lesions elsewhere in her body. She complained of pain and rare bleeding from the lesions after eating hard foods. Physical examination showed multiple, grouped, erythematous, shiny papules mostly in the dorsal aspect of the tongue. There were no other lesions i

The aim of this study is to present a very rare dermatologic condition of the vulva. Angiokeratoma is a benign dilation of ectatic thin-walled blood vessels and congested capillaries in the superficial dermal layer of skin. It occurs predominantly in men and extremely rare in women. Angiokeratoma presents as single or multiple papular lesions on the vulva with smooth or verrucous surface. These lesions are easily confused with infectious disease, inflammatory lesions, and epithelial tumors. In this report, we presented a 42 year old unmarried woman who was admitted to our clinic with complaint

A patient with severe deficiency of beta-galactosidase, who developed skin lesions of angiokeratoma corporis diffusum between the 3rd and 10th month of life, is described. The activity of other lysosomal enzymes, including alpha-neuraminidase, was normal. The first signs of the disease were noticed during the first month of life. By 3 months coarseness of the face and psychomotor retardation were present. In addition to angiokeratoma, he had large mongolian spots and several scattered slate-blue spots of pigmentation over his body. With the exception of the skin lesions, the other clinical sig

Angiokeratoma corporis diffusum is the cutaneous hallmark of several rare inherited lysosomal diseases associated with specific enzyme deficiencies in the metabolism of glycoproteins, most notably Fabry disease. These defects result in many systemic manifestations. Here, we report a rare familial case of angiokeratoma corporis diffusum that developed at puberty with no major systemic manifestations and no underlying enzyme defect or gene mutation. Familial angiokeratoma corporis diffusum without identified enzyme defect appears to be a distinct clinical entity with a benign course.

Solitary angiokeratoma of oral mucosa is rare entity. The term Angiokeratoma is used to refer to several lesions, whose common denominator is the presence of dilated blood vessels in association with epidermal hyperplasia. Mucosal involvement, including oral cavity is occasionally found either as a component of the systemic variety, cutaneous involvement or isolated oral involvement. Clinically, the lesion is irregular, whitish to dark brown in color, with female predominance. The etiological factors include injury, trauma, or chronic irritation to the wall of a papillary dermis.
