Hidradenoma papilliferum is derived from apocrine sweat glands and was originally described as a tumor located in the anogenital area. We report a case of a blue-black nodule on the left upper eyelid of a 77-year-old woman. Dermoscopic examination of the lesion revealed a purple or purple-red homogenous opaque area like that often observed in apocrine gland cysts and a yellow-whitish homogenous structure with arborizing vessels. After resection of the tumor, a final diagnosis of collision of an apocrine gland cyst and a trichoblastoma was made. We should note the possibility that trichoblastoma may exhibit a yellow-whitish homogenous structure in dermoscopy.

Polarizable calcium oxalate (CaOx) crystals have been well documented in breast biopsies, generally associated with benign apocrine metaplasia. In contrast, polarizable crystals are only rarely reported in skin adnexal neoplasms. Axillary osmidrosis is a troublesome and distressing problem. Medical treatment is only temporally effective. From March 2003 to November 2004, 36 patients with axillary osmidrosis (nine cases combined with axillary hyperhidrosis) have been treated by excision of the subcutaneous glands via a small transverse incision, of which 31 cases could be followed up for a minimum of 3 months (average 7.3 months).
