Periungual basal cell carcinoma is rare and needs to be differentiated from other common diseases that affect this region. Several factors are associated with the development of this tumor, and sun damage seems to play an important role in its pathogenesis. Dermoscopy of clinically indolent lesions on the nail unit can shorten the diagnostic process and avoid destructive treatment and functional damage.

Basaloid squamous cell carcinoma (BSCC) of the oral mucosa other than the tongue is uncommon. We report a case of a 67-year-old man who diagnosed with Stage I BSCC in the floor of the mouth. We performed abdomino-perineal resection of the rectum and partial resection of a vagina in a 78-year-old woman on a diagnosis of anal canal basaloid carcinoma with vaginal invasion. We report a case of basaloid carcinoma of the thymus, confirmed by histopathological examination, in a 52-year-old man who underwent complete resection. Local recurrence and lung metastases developed, which were obliterated by radiation therapy. The patient survived for 81 months after surgery. We reviewed the 13 other cases of basaloid carcinoma of the thymus reported in the literature. Presumably, this tumor is radiosensitive and its metastatic route is blood-borne.
