Surgically resected signet-ring cell carcinomas of the stomach have been clinicopathologically investigated. Although this type of carcinoma was found to be widely spread in the propria mucosa, a deeper invasion beyond the submucosa appeared more slowly than in other types of carcinomas. A case of primary signet ring cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder is reported. A 52-year-old man was admitted with the complaint of gross hematuria. Cystoscopy showed non-papillary tumor on the right lateral wall. Abdominal CT, Ga scintigraphy, upper gastrointestinal series and barium enema, revealed no signs of a tumor other than the bladder carcinoma. A rare vesical carcinoma, arising in a 47-year-old male, is described. The tumor developed from the left ureteral orifice and posterior urethra, showing a nonpapillary appearance with a wide stalk. By light microscopy, the carcinoma was found to be mainly composed of signet ring cells and associated with small foci of transitional cell carcinoma. The previously reported cases of signet ring cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder were reviewed with a special reference to the manifold potentiality of the urothelium.

Tumor-to-tumor metastasis is a rare phenomenon. On the basis of our review of international literature, there have been 7 reports of tumor-to-tumor metastasis cases involving ovary neoplasms as the recipient. However, an ovarian granulosa cell tumor has not been reported to be a recipient. Here, we report the first case of gastric signet-ring cell carcinoma metastasis to a bilateral ovarian granulosa cell tumor. Awareness of this phenomenon is important to avoid incorrect diagnoses when encountering unusual morphologic features in ovarian granulosa cell tumors.

A 52-year-old man underwent esophagogastroduodenoscopy during a routine health checkup, which revealed a 15 mm semipedunculated lesion in the duodenal bulb. The initial biopsy revealed Brunner's gland hyperplasia with gastric foveolar metaplasia (GFM). We report a case of metastatic signet ring cell carcinoma (SRC) of the colon involving the right spermatic cord and testis following a right hemicolectomy. Signet ring cell carcinomas (SRCC) are aggressive neoplasms with poor prognoses, commonly found in the stomach, colon, and small intestine. However, their occurrence in the Ampulla of Vater is rare and their origin remains unclear. Among 163 cases of surgically treated ampullary carcinomas, we observed 4 cases (2.4%) of SRCC with jaundice being the primary clinical manifestation, followed by weight loss and abdominal pain. Dermatomyositis (DM), as a paraneoplastic presentation, is rare, though the incidence of malignancies in patients with DM is very high. Primary bladder signet-ring cell carcinoma (SRCC) is extremely rare and associated with an aggressive course.
