Putative buffering roles of two-way social support and psychological resilience in the association between nurse-patient conflict and situational emotional response: a cross-sectional correlational study among Chinese nursing interns.

BACKGROUND: Nurse-patient conflict acts as a common stressor for nursing interns during clinical training. Existing research fails to empirically verify the synergistic buffering pathways of two-way social support and psychological resilience on interns' situational emotional responses in Chinese clinical settings. This study aimed to describe interns' emotional response status under nurse-patient conflicts and explore relevant associated factors. METHODS: A cross-sectional correlational design was adopted. A total of 423 eligible nursing interns with conflict experience were recruited from s

Assessing psychological and physical abuse from children's perspective: Factor structure and psychometric properties of the picture-based, modularized child-report version of the Parent-Child Conflict Tactics Scale - Revised (CTSPC-R).

Child victims' reports of psychological and physical abuse by caregivers are a fundamental source of information beyond official records and caregiver reports. However, few or no sensitive and age-appropriate child-report instruments exist that have undergone in-depth validity and reliability testing across a broad age-range. Our study addresses this gap by examining psychometric properties of a picture-based, modularized version of the Parent-Child Conflict Tactics Scale (CTSPC-R), encompassing the maltreatment subtypes of psychological and physical abuse. A sample of 904 children and adolesc

Evaluating effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of a group psychological intervention using cognitive behavioural strategies for women with common mental disorders in conflict-affected rural Pakistan: study protocol for a randomised controlled trial.

BACKGROUND: The impact of humanitarian disasters upon mental health is well recognised. The evidence for psychological interventions for mental health is mounting, but few interventions have been rigorously tested in humanitarian settings. To be sustainable in humanitarian settings interventions need to be short, simple, deliverable by nonspecialists under supervision, and adopt a transdiagnostic approach where an array of mental health outcomes are addressed simultaneously. These elements have been incorporated into the newly developed WHO Problem Management Plus (PM+) Group intervention. The

Work-family conflict and posttraumatic stress symptoms among college teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The study aimed to examine the indirect factors underlying the association between work-family conflict and posttraumatic stress symptoms (PTSS) in college teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Three potential indirect factors were examined: perceived stress, basic psychological needs, and rumination. A total of 274 college teachers were recruited. All participants completed an electronic questionnaire that assessed their exposure to the pandemic, work-family conflict, perceived stress, basic psychological needs, rumination, and PTSS. The results showed that after controlling for pandemic exp

Lived experiences of displaced pregnant women during armed conflict in Gaza: Implications for trauma-informed maternity care.

INTRODUCTION: Armed conflict disrupts maternity care and exposes pregnant women to substantial physical, psychological, and social risks. Although increasing evidence has documented the effects of armed conflict on maternal health, little is known about the lived experiences of displaced pregnant women during the ongoing armed conflict in Gaza. This study explored the lived experiences of displaced pregnant women living in Gaza. METHODS: A descriptive phenomenological qualitative study was conducted with 25 displaced pregnant women residing in the Gaza Strip. Data were collected through semi-

Adult Attachment Styles, Destructive Conflict Resolution, and the Experience of Intimate Partner Violence.

Although there is ample evidence linking insecure attachment styles and intimate partner violence (IPV), little is known about the psychological processes underlying this association, especially from the victim's perspective. The present study examined how attachment styles relate to the experience of sexual and psychological abuse, directly or indirectly through destructive conflict resolution strategies, both self-reported and attributed to their opposite-sex romantic partner. In an online survey, 216 Spanish undergraduates completed measures of adult attachment style, engagement and withdra

Conflict, caregiver violence and gendered parenting: A cross-sectional study among adolescent girls and young women participating in a girls' empowerment programme in Myanmar.

Across Myanmar, armed conflict and political instability have exacerbated poverty, food insecurity, and disrupted essential social protection services, severely affected people's health and wellbeing. This is especially pertinent for girls and young women, for whom gender inequalities are exacerbated during conflict, increasing their risk of various forms of violence. We aimed to measure the prevalence of parent/caregiver-perpetrated violence against adolescent girls across Myanmar and examine its association with exposure to conflict and gendered parenting practices following the 2021 militar

Sibling conflict in middle childhood predicts children's adjustment in early adolescence.

Associations between sibling conflict in middle childhood and psychological adjustment in early adolescence were studied in a sample of 80 boys and 56 girls. Parents and children provided self-report data about family relationships and children's adjustment. Parents' hostility to children was assessed from videotaped interactions. Results showed that sibling conflict at Time 1 predicted increases in children's anxiety, depressed mood, and delinquent behavior 2 years later. Moreover, earlier sibling conflict at Time 1 accounted for unique variance in young adolescents' Time 2 anxiety, depressed

Under poverty and conflict: Well-being of children living in the east of Turkey.

Children living in armed conflict zones are often exposed to political violence and other risk factors that may be caused or exacerbated by the conflict, such as poverty and family violence. If left untreated, these experiences may cause psychological problems throughout life. This study investigated the psychological well-being of children living in the low-intensity armed conflict zone in Turkey in relation to their adverse experiences. We collected data from 409 caregivers for their children (236 girls) aged 5.5 to 18 years (mean [M] = 11.50, standard deviation [SD] = 3.65). Caregivers prov
