Anterior transcorporeal approach combined with posterior translaminar approach in percutaneous endoscopic cervical discectomy for two-segment cervical disc herniation treatment: a technical report and early follow-up.

OBJECTIVE: Full endoscopic techniques are being gradually introduced from single-segment cervical disc herniation surgery to two-segment cervical disc herniation surgery. However, there is no suitable full endoscopic treatment for mixed-type two-segment cervical disc herniation (MTCDH) in which one segment herniates in front of the spinal cord and the other segment herniates behind the spinal cord. Therefore, we introduce a new full endoscopic technique by combining an anterior transcorporeal approach and a posterior translaminar approach. In addition, we provide a brief description of its saf

Percutaneous Endoscopic Lumbar Discectomy for Lumbar Disc Herniation With Type II Modic Changes.

BACKGROUND: Percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy (PELD) has become a favorable surgical approach for lumbar radiculopathy caused by intervertebral disc herniation. Studies have revealed patients with type II Modic change may suffer from unrelieved low back pain and higher lumbar disc herniation (LDH) recurrence after herniated nucleus pulposus removal. Therefore, in this study, we aim to evaluate how PELD performed in management of LDH patients with type II Modic change. METHODS: We collected 267 single-level LDH cases aged 20-50 yearswho underwent PELD from December 2016 to December 201

[Reconsideration of lumbar spinal stenosis].

People's understanding of lumbar spinal stenosis has become more and more comprehensive and reasonable, however, there are still many controversies about the concepts of "central lumbar canal" and "lateral lumbar spinal canal", and there is no unified standard at present. In this paper, we redefine and differentiate the two concepts. We believe that some kinds of central canal stenosis caused by bilateral recess stenosis can be completely solved by bilateral percutaneous endoscopic transforaminal discectomy. At the same time, the concept of "lumbar lateral recess" is ambiguous. We redefine it

Endoscopic discectomy as an effective treatment of a herniated intervertebral disc.

OBJECTIVE: Prospective observational multicentre two-arm parallel study describing clinical outcome after endoscopic discectomy provided via transforaminal and interlaminar approach. BACKGROUND: Endoscopic lumbar discectomy (ELD) is a percutaneous minimally invasive procedure for the treatment of herniated lumbar discs. Herniations at lumbar intervertebral disc levels of L1/2, L2/3, L3/4 and L4/5 are mostly accessed by the transforaminal (TF) approach. However, due to the anatomic position of the iliac crest, the L5/S1 level might not be reachable by the transforaminal approach, while the int

Full Percutaneous Lumbar Interbody Fusion: Technical Note.

INTRODUCTION: Although lumbar interbody fusion is effective for low back pain caused by severe disk degeneration, it is a highly invasive procedure. Less invasive procedures such as transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF) and lumbar lateral interbody fusion have become available; however, there is still scope for improvement. We performed full percutaneous endoscopic lumbar interbody fusion (PELIF), a technique designed as a safe and less invasive percutaneous fusion. METHOD AND SUBJECTS: Our technique is indicated for patients with chronic low back pain in whom conservative treatment w
