Teratogenic effects of radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation on the embryonic development of chick: A study on morphology and hatchability.

The present study was aimed at studying the effects of RF-EMR in causing teratogenic changes in the embryonic development of organisms using chick embryo as a model. The fertilized eggs of the hen were incubated in a digital humidified incubator and exposed to RF-EMR from 2G and 4G mobile phones by ringing at regular time intervals. The dose of RF-EMR was varied by increasing the call duration and number of calls per day, with the lower dose being a call duration of 50 min/day and the higher dose being 90 min/day. The phone kept had a range of radiofrequency between 900 and 1800 MHz and SAR (S

[Effects of extremely high-frequency electromagnetic radiation on the immune system and systemic regulation of homeostasis].

Low-intensity of electromagnetic radiation of extremely high frequencies (EHF EMR) is effectively used in medical practice for diagnostics, prevention and treatment of a broad spectrum of diseases of different etiology. However, in spite of existence of many hypotheses about mechanisms of EHF EMR effects on the molecular and cellular levels of organization of living systems, there is not conception that could explain all diversity of the EHF-therapy effects from unified approach. In our opinion, the problem of determination of mechanisms of EHF EMR effects on living organism is divided into tw

Effects of electromagnetic radiation in the range 20-300 MHz on the vacuolar potential of characean cells.

A giant cell (circa 10 mm long) of Chara braunii or Nitella flexilis was placed in a microstrip exposure apparatus, and the vacuolar potential at one end was monitored with a micropipette while the other end was exposed to pulses of VHF radiation at electric field strengths up to 6250 V/m. With suitable filtering and signal averaging, offsets of the vacuolar potential could be detected in real time and at levels as low as 1 microV. The only effect that has been reproducibly observed in the carrier frequency range 20-300 MHz was the slow ramp-like hyperpolarization previously reported [Pickard

Impact of high frequency electromagnetic radiation on bacterial survival and antibiotic activity in exposed bacteria.

High-frequency electromagnetic waves (HFEMWs) have been shown to influence cellular functions, including bacterial behavior, potentially affecting growth and antibiotic sensitivity. This study evaluated the response of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus to HFEMWs across a frequency range of 900 MHz to 73 GHz. The Bacterial sensitivity to antibiotics, including ceftazidime, ceftaroline, gentamycin, doxycycline, and ciprofloxacin, was assessed. The growth rate was evaluated by measuring the optical density (OD) and the number of colony-forming units (CFUs). Our results revealed significa

Biological effects of exposure to 2650 MHz electromagnetic radiation on the behavior, learning, and memory of mice.

BACKGROUND: With the development of communication technology, the public is paying increasing attention to whether electromagnetic radiation is harmful to health. Mobile phone communication has entered the 5G era, and there are almost no reports on electromagnetic radiation at 2650 MHz. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the risk of adverse effects of 5G mobile phone EMR exposure on the human brain. METHODS: Male animals were continuously exposed to 2650 MHz-EMR for 28 days with a whole-body averaged specific absorption rate (WBSAR) of 2.06 W/kg for 4 h per day. Mouse behavior was assesse

Occupational health and safety: measurement and analysis of the electromagnetic radiation produced by radiofrequency devices for rejuvenation.

With the ongoing development of cosmetic technology, many different types of radiofrequency (RF) devices are widely used for face and body rejuvenation. These, like many other high-power devices, may emit excessive electromagnetic radiation into the surrounding environment. Long-term exposure to this environment can lead to poor health outcomes; therefore, it is important to measure and analyze the electromagnetic radiation levels for the health and safety of therapists. A handheld electronic electromagnetic radiation measuring instrument was used to measure the electric and magnetic field str

[The remote effects of chronic exposure to ionizing radiation and electromagnetic fields with respect to hygienic standardization].

A variety and rate of non-cancer diseases occurred in humans as a result of chronic exposure to ionizing radiation or to electromagnetic radiation (EMR) of high and superhigh frequency have been compared. The intensity of EMR was slightly higher than a sanitary standard for population. A risk of health impairments in workers having occupational exposure to EMR was assessed on the basis of Selie's concept of development of non-specific reaction of the body to chronic stress factors (general adaptation syndrome), models of changes in the body compensatory reserves and calculations of radiation r

Effect of 1.8 GHz radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation on novel object associative recognition memory in mice.

Mounting evidence suggests that exposure to radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation (RF-EMR) can influence learning and memory in rodents. In this study, we examined the effects of single exposure to 1.8 GHz RF-EMR for 30 min on subsequent recognition memory in mice, using the novel object recognition task (NORT). RF-EMR exposure at an intensity of >2.2 W/kg specific absorption rate (SAR) power density induced a significant density-dependent increase in NORT index with no corresponding changes in spontaneous locomotor activity. RF-EMR exposure increased dendritic-spine density and length in h

Stability of Homeopathic Stannum metallicum 30x against Pulsed Electromagnetic GHz Radiation: A Real-World Study.

BACKGROUND: The pervasive use of cell phones has led to a substantial increase in pulsed electromagnetic fields (EMFs) in our immediate environment. For pharmaceuticals, close proximity EMF effects are considered analogous to those of conventional heating, whilst the effect on homeopathic preparations remains inconclusive. OBJECTIVES: Accordingly, we investigated whether pulsed EMF in the GHz range affects homeopathic preparations regarding their biological effects under real-world conditions. METHODS: Stannum metallicum 30x (nominal dilution 10-30 of the original substance), and lactose 30x

Anti-inflammatory effects of low-intensity extremely high-frequency electromagnetic radiation: frequency and power dependence.

Using a model of acute zymosan-induced footpad edema in NMRI mice, the frequency and power dependence of anti-inflammatory effect of low-intensity extremely high-frequency electromagnetic radiation (EHF EMR) was found. Single whole-body exposure of animals to EHF EMR at the intensity of 0.1 mW/cm(2) for 20 min at 1 h after zymosan injection reduced both the footpad edema and local hyperthermia on average by 20% at the frequencies of 42.2, 51.8, and 65 GHz. Some other frequencies from the frequency range of 37.5-70 GHz were less effective or not effective at all. At fixed frequency of 42.2 GHz

Biological stress responses to radio frequency electromagnetic radiation: are mobile phones really so (heat) shocking?

Cells phenotypically adapt to alterations in their intra- and extracellular environment via organised alterations to gene and protein expression. Many chemical and physical stimuli are known to drive such responses, including the induction of oxidative stress and heat shock. Increasing use of mobile telephones in our society, has brought focus on the potential for radio frequency (microwave) electromagnetic radiation to elicit biological stress responses, in association with potentially detrimental effects of this to human health. Here we review evidence suggesting altered gene and protein exp

[The specific features of the development of metabolic and regenerative processes under the action of low-intensity electromagnetic radiation in radiation exposure conditions (an experimental study)].

The experiments on male white rats with the use of biochemical, photo-optical, and electron-microscopic techniques have demonstrated that the use of low-intensity electromagnetic radiation of ultrahigh frequency (EMR UHF) and low-intensity low-frequency magnetic field (MF) during the post-irradiation period (within 21 days after exposure to radiation) enhanced the metabolic and regenerative processes in the testes and liver. It was shown that the application of MF largely intensified the antioxidant activity whereas EMR UHF preferentially stimulated the biosynthetic processes as well as the pr

Exposure to non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation of public risk prevention instruments threatens the quality of spermatozoids.

The use of artificial insemination in cattle breeding has evolved to global extent, and insemination doses are often shipped via air transport which requires strict radiation-based examinations. For the determination of effect of non-ionizing radiation (NIR), to which are beings frequently exposed due to protection of airport or cultural event security, freshly ejaculated and cryopreserved bovine spermatozoa were used as experimental model. Following radiation with hand-held metal detector in various exposition times (0, 10 s, 15, 30 and 60 min-groups FR, FR10, FR15, FR30 and FR60) the spermat
