This work describes gonadotropic (GtH) cells and their morphological and immunohistochemical changes during the spermatogenic cycle of Serrasalmus maculatus (continuous spermatogenesis) and Pimelodus maculatus (seasonal spermatogenesis). One hundred eighty-three human single copy clones were isolated from the Livermore Laboratory chromosome 11 library (ID code LL11NSO1) and 112 of them were mapped to chromosome 11. The peptide QRFP plays an important role in the regulation of vertebrate feeding behavior.
