AIM: Chronic hepatitis B (CHB) is a global health problem. Recent genome-wide association studies (GWAS) exposed signifi-cant association between the human leukocyte antigen (HLA) class II region, including both DP and DQ loci, and chronic hepatitis B. Previous research also indicated the involvement of adaptive immune system in Hepatitis B seroconversion. HLA-A, B, C, D, and DR antigens in 40 Japanese patients with psoriasis vulgaris were analysed using the antisera obtained from the Seventh International Histocompatibility Workshop. The most deviant HLA antigens in psoriasis were found to be HLA-Cw6 and DRw7. by observing the HLA-A, B, C and DR antigens en bloc in psoriasis, it is shown that the statistically significantly associated haplotype antigens were HLA-A1, B13, Cw6 and DRw7, and A1, B37, Cw6 and DRw6 respectively. No HLA-Dw11 (LD17) antigen was associated with the disease.

BACKGROUND: The human lymphocyte antigen (HLA) molecule B*5101 is a functioning receptor of the immune system and is generally accepted as a genetic marker for Behçet disease (BD), a multi-organ, chronic inflammatory disorder. The HLA types of peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) of 36 adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL) patients were examined and compared with those of 45 healthy relatives of these patients, and with those of 10 non-ATLL families including 80 healthy members.
