PURPOSE: Management for blunt trauma with breach of the renal capsule or bladder (extraperitoneal) has largely become nonsurgical since a conservative approach proved to be effective and safe. Currently the recommendation for managing testicular rupture is surgical exploration and débridement or orchiectomy. Ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt insertion may be associated with migration into the abdominal wall, gastrointestinal tract, bladder, vagina, scrotum, and mediastinum. Migration of the VP shunt into the scrotum has been rarely reported. Low-level swirling echoes were noted in scrotal fluid that ultimately proved to be a hydrocele. This sonographic appearance is similar to a hematocele or pyocele and potentially can cause confusion. We evaluated 14 patients with hydroceles and found these swirling echoes in nine. In each of these patients, the echoes were readily apparent with increased gain and were distinguished from artifact by their motion. This study presents 100 consecutive cases of total salpingectomy by laparoscopy for the treatment of ampullar ectopic pregnancy. A three-puncture technique was used, and the salpingectomy was done by thermocoagulation and transection of the isthmus, mesosalpinx, and tubo-ovarian ligament. This is a case report of extravaginal twisting of the spermatic cord in a neonate (third pregnancy, without prenatal care, obtained through iterative cesarean section), which occurred during the prenatal (in uterus) period since it was present at birth. Clinically found were: an enlargement of the right hemiscrotum, color changes (violet), induration, absence of the cremasteric reflex and no translumination.
