The European Journal of Paediatric Dentistry achieves Q1 status: a strategic advancement in specialised dental publishing.

The European Journal of Paediatric Dentistry (EJPD) has attained a significant milestone by entering the first quartile (Q1) in the 2024 Journal Citation Reports (JCR), curated by Clarivate Analytics, in both the "Dentistry, Oral Surgery & Medicine" and "Paediatrics" categories". This dual recognition is a rare and significant achievement for a journal exclusively devoted to paediatric dentistry, underscoring its growing influence within both the dental and broader medical research communities. Since its initial inclusion in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) in 2010, the European Journal of P

Time trends, disease patterns and gender imbalance in the top 100 most cited articles in ophthalmology.

We analysed the 100 top cited articles in ophthalmology to identify and characterise the most influential articles of the past four decades. Two independent investigators searched the Scopus database to determine the 100 most frequently cited articles in ophthalmology (T100-Eye) and general non-ophthalmology journals (T100-Gen) published from 1975 to December 2017. The T100-Eye list consisted of 83 original articles and 17 reviews, and the number of citations ranged from 582 to 2833. Seventy-eight of these articles were published in three journals alone (impact factor (IF): 5.05-8.2), led by t

A systematic review of the quality of distal radius systematic reviews: Methodology and reporting assessment.

BACKGROUND: Many systematic reviews (SRs) have been published about the various treatments for distal radius fractures (DRF). The heterogeneity of SRs results may come from the misuse of SR methods, and literature overviews have demonstrated that SRs should be considered with caution as they may not always be synonymous with high-quality standards. Our objective is to evaluate the quality of published SRs on the treatment of DRF through these tools. METHODS: The methods utilized in this review were previously published in the PROSPERO database. We considered SRs of surgical and nonsurgical in
