Consumption of Limosilactobacillus fermentum Inhibits Corneal Damage and Inflammation in Dry Eye Disease Mouse Model through Regulating the Gut Microbiome.

The present study investigated the effect of orally administered Limosilactobacillus fermentum HY7302 (HY7302) on the relationship between ocular tissue and the microbiome in a corneal injury dry eye mouse model. Specifically, 0.1% benzalkonium chloride (BAC) was applied to the ocular surface for 14 days to induce corneal injury in male Balb/c mice. During the BAC treatment period, HY7302 (1 × 108 CFU/kg/day or 1 × 109 CFU/kg/day) or an omega-3 positive control (400 mg/kg/day) were administered orally (n = eight/group). To examine the signaling pathways affected by the HY7302 treatment, the in

Candida tropicalis, Clavispora lusitaniae, Limosilactobacillus fermentum, Liquorilactobacillus mali, and Leuconostoc pseudomesenteroides are associated with ethanol in Malian traditional fermented milk products.

Fermented milk products (FMP) have been consumed by humans for millennia and the associated health benefits are no longer to be demonstrated. Although the manufacturing procedure have been industrialized, FMPs are still produced traditionally in many parts of the world with variable manufacturing procedures and unknown sanitary conditions. In this study, we aimed at comparing the physico-chemical properties of industrial and traditional FMPs from France and Mali as well as their microbial diversity. Therefore, 43 FMPs from France (seven yoghurts and four curdled milk products) and Mali (seven

Limosilactobacillus fermentum role in combination with human mesenchymal stem cell-derived secretome: A novel approach to alleviate inflammation in NASH pathogenesis.

BACKGROUND: Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is caused by the accumulation of excess fat in the liver, chronic inflammation, and cell death. The role of the secretome derived from Wharton's jelly and mesenchymal stem cells (WJ-MSC) in reducing inflammation and apoptosis has been investigated in several studies. Also, the strain Limosilactobacillus fermentum (L‌.‌fermentum) was identified as an antimicrobial and antioxidant probiotic. This study looked into the role of a combination of secretome and L.fermentum on cellular stress, apoptosis, and inflammation-related pathways in an NASH in-vi

Limosilactobacillus fermentum TY-S11 ameliorates hypercholesterolemia via promoting cholesterol excretion and regulating gut microbiota in high-cholesterol diet-fed apolipoprotein E-deficient mice.

Hypercholesterolemia is a metabolic disease characterized by elevated cholesterol level in the blood, which is a risk factor for many diseases. Probiotic intervention may be one of the ways to improve hypercholesterolemia. In this study, three strains with better cholesterol removal ability were selected from 60 strains of lactic acid bacteria, and were orally administered to apolipoprotein E-deficient mice on a high-cholesterol diet. Among the three strains, only Limosilactobacillus fermentum TY-S11, which was isolated from the intestine of a longevity person, significantly improved serum and

Limosilactobacillus fermentum 3872 That Produces Class III Bacteriocin Forms Co-Aggregates with the Antibiotic-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus Strains and Induces Their Lethal Damage.

LF3872 was isolated from the milk of a healthy lactating and breastfeeding woman. Earlier, the genome of LF3872 was sequenced, and a gene encoding unique bacteriocin was discovered. We have shown here that the LF3872 strain produces a novel thermolabile class III bacteriolysin (BLF3872), exhibiting antimicrobial activity against antibiotic-resistant Staphylococcus aureus strains. Sequence analysis revealed the two-domain structural (lysozyme-like domain and peptidase M23 domain) organization of BLF3872. At least 25% residues of this protein are expected to be intrinsically disordered. Furtherm

The mechanisms underlying ester enhancement and higher alcohol reduction in Chi-flavor base liquor brewing via Limosilactobacillus fermentum fortification: A multi-omics investigation.

Chi-flavor Baijiu is a unique liquor in the Pearl River Delta region. Ethyl lactate is the key flavor with low content in base liquor, affecting qualities of Chi-flavor Baijiu. To address this issue, Limosilactobacillus fermentum Y8 (Y8) isolated from sour mash, was used to fortify the fermentation. Results showed that contents of ethyl acetate and ethyl lactate reached to 663.55 mg/L and 604.25 mg/L, increased by 334.97% and 331.26%, respectively, with that of ethanol unchanged and main higher alcohols reduced significantly. Metagenomic analysis revealed that Lactiplantibacillus, Limosilactob
