BACKGROUND: Coccidiosis is an intestinal disease caused by protozoan parasites of the genus Eimeria and responsible for considerable economic loss in the livestock and poultry industries. Resistance to the current anticoccidial drugs is now a major challenge to efforts to control the disease, and this has stimulated the search for new compounds as alternative treatments. In this context, plant extracts have emerged as an alternative and complementary approach to control coccidiosis. In the present study, an ethanol extract of Moringa oleifera leaves was screened for its anticoccidial activity

Moringa oleifera (Moringaceae) is a tropical tree whose leaves and stems have long been used in South Asian and African traditional medicine for infectious and inflammatory disorders. These tissues contain a diverse array of secondary metabolites, chiefly flavonoids, phenolic acids, isothiocyanates, sterols, and peptides, and exhibit broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including multidrug-resistant strains. Their anti-inflammatory effects have been attributed to the suppression of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB)/Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) signalin

Exposure to ionizing radiation during medical diagnostics and cancer therapy often results in collateral damage to healthy cells, primarily due to the generation of free radicals. Moringa oleifera (MO), known for its rich antioxidant profile, may offer protective effects against such damage. This study investigates the radioprotective potential of MO leaf extract against DNA damage induced by bleomycin and X-irradiation. The antioxidant capacity of the extract was evaluated using DPPH radical scavenging assays, which revealed a dose-dependent increase in free radical inhibition, from 21.51% at

This research demonstrates a green biological method for producing mixed rare-earth oxide nanoparticles (multi-REO NPs) through Moringa oleifera leaf extract in water. A light rare-earth oxide (LREO) cake concentrate, containing mainly the oxides of La, Ce, Pr, and Nd, served as the precursor for the metal ions. The aqueous extract from M. oleifera leaves due to its rich phytochemical contents served dual functions as a bioreducing and capping agent. The formation of nanoparticles was verified through UV-vis spectroscopy, which displayed a characteristic absorption peak at 311 nm corresponding
