A unique pathogenetic process for onion-bulb (Ob) formation is disclosed with disclosed with immunohistochemistry and electron microscopy. Biopsy of a swollen segment of tibial nerve from a 42 year-old white female histologically demonstrated diffuse and angiocentric lymphocytic infiltrate in both endo- and perineurium with occasional lymphofollicular formation. Extensive Ob formation of nerve fibers was most striking with or without associated lymphocytes. Axis-cylinders were intact in the majority of Ob. A transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt is the standard of care for complications of portal hypertension, such as variceal bleeding, refractory ascites, and hepatic hydrothorax. For the first time, singlet oxygen was shown to be generated by quercetin and gallic acid under mild conditions (37 °C, pH 7) and exclusion of light. Globalization of the food supply chain has created conditions favorable for emergence and spread of multidrug-resistant (MDR) foodborne pathogens. In November 2021, the UK Health Security Agency detected an outbreak of 17 cases infected with the same strain of MDR extended spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Shigella sonnei. Phylogenetic analysis of whole-genome sequencing data revealed the outbreak was closely related to strains of S. sonnei isolated from travelers returning to the UK from Egypt. This study investigates the potential of onion peel waste as a sustainable and cost-effective alternative substrate for xanthan gum production using Xanthomonas campestris NCIM 2961. PURPOSE: To evaluate whether the onion skin sign on ultrasonography (US) of the lower abdomen is specific for the diagnosis of an appendiceal mucocele.
METHODS: Our study included 231 lesions from 229 patients in whom transabdominal US detected lesions in the lower abdomen and who had definitive pathological diagnoses in the small bowel, ileocecal valve, cecum, appendix, mesentery, adnexa uteri or pelvic cavity outside the major organs. Patients with metastatic tumors were excluded. We reviewed the reports and images from transabdominal US and checked for the presence of the onion skin sign.

We investigated the use of nonwoven fiber barriers for control of cabbage maggot, Delia radicum (L.), and onion maggot, D. antiqua (Meigen). The barriers consist of arrangements of minute fibers loosely intertwined in "Веб-приложение" form.
