Effects of non-surgical decompression therapy in addition to routine physical therapy on pain, range of motion, endurance, functional disability and quality of life versus routine physical therapy alone in patients with lumbar radiculopathy; a randomized controlled trial.

BACKGROUND: Lumbar radiculopathy is an extensively common complaint reported by patients of low back pain (LBP), resulting in several impairments. A comparatively novel technique, non-surgical spinal decompression (NSD), is introduced, which uses a sensitive computerized feedback mechanism and decompresses the spinal nerve roots through segmental distraction. The objective of this study was to determine the effects of NSD therapy in addition to routine physical therapy on pain, lumbar range of motion (ROM), functional disability, back muscle endurance (BME), and quality of life (QOL) in patien

Comparing different anodic transcranial direct current stimulation montages on whole-body aerobic endurance performance in physically active populations: A systematic review and network meta-analysis.

Anodal transcranial direct current stimulation (a-tDCS) shows promise for improving endurance performance, but the optimal montage for this purpose remains unclear. We conducted the first network meta-analysis (NMA) to compare various a-tDCS montages to verify their effects on whole-body endurance performance in physically active people. The search was conducted using four databases until 4 March 2025. A frequentist random-effects NMA was performed to compare different a-tDCS montages. Statistical analysis was conducted using MetaInsight, and confidence in the evidence was assessed with the CI

Endurance exercise and central fatigue: A bibliometric and visualization analysis over 2 decades (2005-2024).

BACKGROUND: Endurance exercise, characterized by sustained low-to-moderate intensity training, enhances physiological performance during prolonged physical activity and is widely used in sports training and the rehabilitation of chronic diseases. Central fatigue, a key issue in endurance sports, arises from fatigue mechanisms within the central nervous system, affecting both performance and emotional well-being. Although endurance training can improve performance and mood by modulating neurotransmitter balance, the onset and exacerbation of central fatigue remain unresolved challenges. METHOD

The Effect of Speed Endurance Versus Core Training on The Repeated Sprint Ability of Youth Male Soccer Players - A Randomized Controlled Trial.

The effects of specific training protocols to improve repeated sprint ability are well known; however, the utility of non-specific training for this purpose is doubtful. Therefore, this study aimed to compare the effects of a specific (sport-related) vs. non-specific (general physical development) eight-week training protocol on developing or maintaining repeated sprint ability in soccer players. Thirty-eight male soccer players (aged 17.1 ± 0.3 years) were randomly divided into a speed endurance group (n = 18) and a core training group (n = 20). The speed endurance group performed 4 sprints l

Responsiveness to endurance training can be partly explained by the number of favorable single nucleotide polymorphisms an individual possesses.

Cardiorespiratory fitness is a key component of health-related fitness. It is a necessary focus of improvement, especially for those that have poor fitness and are classed as untrained. However, much research has shown individuals respond differentially to identical training programs, suggesting the involvement of a genetic component in individual exercise responses. Previous research has focused predominantly on a relatively low number of candidate genes and their overall influence on exercise responsiveness. However, examination of gene-specific alleles may provide a greater level of underst

Prior brain endurance training improves endurance exercise performance.

Mental fatigue (MF) impairs endurance exercise performance. Brain endurance training (BET) describes the systematic repetition of mentally-fatiguing cognitive tasks designed to build resilience to MF and improve endurance performance. Evidence to date shows that mental training during physical training can benefit post-training exercise performance, however, this concurrent BET approach may not be practical for all settings. Therefore, the current study evaluated the effects of mental training before physical training (prior BET) on exercise performance. A randomised control trial design: pre-

Aging and Possible Benefits or Negatives of Lifelong Endurance Running: How Master Male Athletes Differ from Young Athletes and Elderly Sedentary?

Regular physical activity, recommended by the WHO, is crucial in maintaining a good physical fitness level and health status and slows down the effects of aging. However, there is a lack of knowledge of whether lifelong endurance running, with a volume and frequency above the WHO limits, still brings the same benefits, or several negative effects too. The present study aims to examine the protentional benefits and risks of lifelong endurance running training in Master male athletes, as this level of physical activity is above the WHO recommendations. Within the study, four main groups of parti
