Effect of structured training programme on the knowledge and behaviors of breast and cervical cancer screening among the female teachers in Turkey.

BACKGROUND: Breast cancer and cervical cancer are the most common cancers among women in the world. Many studies on the early detection of cancer have been conducted among women worldwide, but few studies have been performed in the world on female teachers regarding breast self-examination (BSE), mammography (MMG) and Pap smear test (PST). As teachers interact with students, this could play an important role in health education and in developing healthy behavior such as cancer screening. The main objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of a structured teaching program on breast and

The relative effectiveness of vocal hygiene training and vocal function exercises in preventing voice disorders in primary school teachers.

Voice disorders in teachers have a significant impact on their occupational functioning and well being. Teachers are believed to have a high prevalence of voice problems because of the unfavourable acoustic environments in which they work and the high vocal demands and stress levels associated with teaching. Although the types of voice problems teachers experience should be preventable because they are caused by factors that teachers can change, there is limited information available regarding the effectiveness of different preventative strategies. Therefore, the aim of this study was to inves

Mental and physical training with meditation and aerobic exercise improved mental health and well-being in teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Teachers face significant stressors in relation to their work, placing them at increased risk for burnout and attrition. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about additional challenges, resulting in an even greater burden. Thus, strategies for reducing stress that can be delivered virtually are likely to benefit this population. Mental and Physical (MAP) Training combines meditation with aerobic exercise and has resulted in positive mental and physical health outcomes in both clinical and subclinical populations. The aim of this pilot study was to evaluate the feasibility and potential effective

Chinese primary school physical education teachers' ongoing training and professional competence: an evidence mapping review and a hypothesis-generating conceptual framework.

Ongoing training has gained increasing research attention as a means to improve the professional competencies of Chinese primary school physical education (PE) teachers. However, prior reviews have largely focused on general teachers, secondary teachers, or other subjects, leaving primary school PE teachers under-researched. Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 2020 guidelines, we systematically searched Web of Science and Scopus, identifying 29 peer-reviewed studies. Methodological quality was assessed using the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool

Effects of voice training and voice hygiene education on acoustic and perceptual speech parameters and self-reported vocal well-being in female teachers.

Voice education programs may help in optimizing teachers' voice use. This study compared effects of voice training (VT) and voice hygiene lecture (VHL) in 60 randomly assigned female teachers. All 60 attended the lecture, and 30 completed a short training course in addition. Text reading was recorded in working environments and analyzed for fundamental frequency (F0), equivalent sound level (Leq), alpha ratio, jitter, shimmer, and perceptual quality. Self-reports of vocal well-being were registered. In the VHL group, increased F0 and difficulty of phonation and in the VT group decreased pertur

Midwifery students' and teachers' perceptions and needs regarding Extended Reality (XR) in educational training and its potential role in anxiety-related learning contexts.

INTRODUCTION: Some midwifery students report anxiety or insufficient preparedness for clinical practice by the end of their initial education. Integrating Extended Reality (XR) into midwifery training may transform traditional teaching by offering immersive, interactive, and safe learning environments. While XR is becoming more common in healthcare education, a better understanding of how midwifery students and teachers perceive its utility, remains underexplored. This study aims to: 1) assess students' and teachers' expectations, needs, and experiences with the use of XR in training; and 2) e

Integrating multimedia training and microteaching in school-based oral health promotion: a mixed-methods study among primary school teachers and students in Gorontalo, Indonesia.

BACKGROUND: Oral health is an essential component of overall well-being. Despite ongoing public health education efforts, childhood dental caries remain highly prevalent in Indonesia, particularly in resource-limited school settings. Teachers play a strategic role as change agents in shaping children's oral health knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors; however, their capacity to deliver effective oral health education is often underdeveloped. This study evaluated the impact of multimedia-assisted training and microteaching on teachers' facilitation, and its subsequent effect on students' oral he

Log in and breathe out: efficacy and cost-effectiveness of an online sleep training for teachers affected by work-related strain--study protocol for a randomized controlled trial.

BACKGROUND: Insomnia and work-related stress often co-occur. Both are associated with personal distress and diminished general functioning, as well as substantial socio-economic costs due to, for example, reduced productivity at the work place and absenteeism. Insomnia complaints by people experiencing work-related stress are correlated with a deficient cognitive detachment from work. Diffuse boundaries between work and private life can additionally complicate the use of recreational activities that facilitate cognitive detachment.Cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia is effective but rare

Evaluating the effectiveness of a training program that builds teachers' capability to identify and appropriately refer middle and high school students with mental health problems in Brazil: an exploratory study.

BACKGROUND: In Brazil, like many countries, there has been a failure to identify mental health problems (MHP) in young people and refer them to appropriate care and support. The school environment provides an ideal setting to do this. Therefore, effective programs need to be developed to train teachers to identify and appropriately refer children with possible MHP. We aimed to evaluate teachers' ability to identify and appropriately refer students with possible MHP, and the effectiveness of a psychoeducational strategy to build teachers' capability in this area. METHODS: To meet the first obj
