Benign mature teratomas are the most common type of germ cell tumors that arise in the anterior mediastinum. Intrapericardial teratomas are a rare manifestation of this tumor type, which are generally diagnosed during infancy because of the heart compression symptoms they produce. Here we report a rare case of intrapericardial mature teratoma that was incidentally discovered in an asymptomatic 51-year-old woman.

We report a giant testicular in a 36-year-old farmer man, of 18-month duration admitted to the Surgical Department Erbil Teaching Hospital, Iraq. Orbital teratomas are rare embryonic tumors composed of a wide diversity of tissues derived from the three germinal layers. Seventeen teratomas with well-differentiated pancreatic tissue were found in 469 cases obtained from the files in our respective departments for the last ten years. Fetal intracranial immature teratomas are extremely rare, rapidly growing and associated with high mortality. We present a case of a large immature intracranial teratoma diagnosed at gestational week 29 with associated macrocephaly and orbital involvement. Due to the tumour size and lethality, cesarean delivery was performed. The neonate died shortly after birth. Postmortem examination and histology confirmed an immature teratoma without somatic-type malignancy. The recurrence risk is considered extremely low.

This case report discusses a presentation of a giant facial teratoma, a rare congenital neoplasm. Head and neck locations of the tumour uncommonly distort the face and may be associated with functional problems. We present a case of teratoma arising from the right parotid extending to the extracranial regions, successfully managed by surgical resection. Reviewing this case with the supporting body of literature anticipates further investigation to address patients' needs more thoroughly.

INTRODUCTION: Teratomas are tumours derived from pluripotent germ cells. They appear most frequently on ovaries. We report the case of a 22-year-old woman suffering from mature mediastinal teratoma, revealed by trichoptysis, which is an exceptional, but pathognomonic symptom of intrathoracic teratomas. Only eight cases of trichoptysis are reported, none of them involved a mediastinal localization. We present the endoscopic and radiologic presentation, its surgical management, and histologic particularities.

Gastric teratoma (GT) comprises less than 1% of all teratomas in children. Though GT in the presence of immature neuroepithelial elements is regarded as malignant, the prognosis is excellent after complete excision of the tumor. A 7-year-old girl with a cervical midline pterygium and teratoma is presented. Pterygium (congenital webbing) of the skin is a rare congenital anomaly. Teratomas are tumors formed by pluripotential primordial germ cells that constitute heterogeneous types of tissues foreign to the organ from which they originate. The undefined connection of two conditions of pterygium and teratoma in the cervical region is reviewed in this case report.

Epipharyngeal teratomas are rare congenital lesions that often cause respiratory distress, stridor at birth. The management of such anomalies should include establishment of secure upper airways, radiographic exclusion of midline CNS malformations and early surgical excision to prevent malignant transformation, asphyxia or permanent facial distortion. The diagnosis of congenital stridor, dyspnea and rhinitis should be performed very carefully.

An erosive teratoma of the parapharyngeal space is described. Our patient at three months of age presented with an eight-week history of torticollis. Diagnosis was strongly suggested by CT scan which clearly demonstrated bony, fluid and intermediate densities suggestive of a teratoma.
