Cryptorchidism is a very common anomaly of testicular migration, different from ectopy, anorchidy or retractile testis. Physiopathology of cryptorchidism is now well known. Hypogonadotrophic hypogonadism during pregnancy is mostly admitted. Recent epidemiologic studies show a significant increase due to toxic environmental factors, in particular pesticide. We describe a case of cicatricial pemphigoid, which is a chronic bullous disorder that predominantly involves mucous membranes. It can sometimes present to the urologist, with erosions, blisters or ulcers on the male or female genitalia, and can pose a diagnostic problem. The response to medical therapy can be rewarding. However, this can be a chronic debilitating and mutilating disease, and the differential diagnosis should be considered in such cases.

OBJECTIVE: To assess the accuracy and benefit of urgent bedside ultrasound scanning in urological emergencies by urology trainees.
METHODS: In this prospective study, 111 patients (86 acute flank pain, 15 renal failure, 10 haematuria) referred as urological emergencies, were scanned for urinary tract abnormalities at the bedside, by a trainee urologist, over 18 months. The ultrasound findings were compared with the results of imaging performed by a consultant radiologist and its influence on clinical management analysed.

Urologists often manage patients with neurogenic voiding dysfunction. These patients often have neuropathic bowel dysfunction. The malone antegrade continence enema (ACE) performed synchronously with a urinary continence procedure has been successful in pediatric patients. We report preliminary experience combining the ACE with a urinary continence procedure in two adult neurogenic patients. The ACE procedure is technically easy. Both patients had a separate urinary stoma and an appendicocecostomy for their ACE. Both patients are continent of stool at their appendicocecostomy and per rectum. B
