Management of the Vertical Dimension in the Camouflage Treatment of an Adult Skeletal Class III Malocclusion.

Treating skeletal class III malocclusions is one of the biggest challenges in Orthodontics. Given the complexity of these cases, orthognathic surgery is often the best treatment option. However, many patients refuse this treatment due to its risks, morbidity, and costs involved. Alternatively, dental compensation can be planned for some of these skeletal problems. This case report presents a dentoalveolar compensation in the orthodontic treatment of a 20-year-old female patient with class III malocclusion, concave profile, anterior crossbite, mandibular prognathism, maxillary retrusion, and a

Prosthodontic Rehabilitation of a Patient with Missing Teeth and Loss of Vertical Dimension Using Telescopic Overdentures.

Overdentures are one of the most sought-after treatment options for patients with few remaining natural teeth. They are desired as they tend to preserve the natural teeth and its intact periodontium. This helps in reducing the residual ridge resorption and preserve proprioception. These characteristics offer better masticatory ability in patients rehabilitated with overdentures when compared to conventional complete dentures. Enhancements such as telescopic denture for better retention prove to be efficient clinically. Telescopic dentures enable frictional type of retention. This is a case rep

Sella turcica dimensions and bridging in relation to vertical growth patterns: a CBCT study.

BACKGROUND: Controversy remains regarding whether sella turcica (ST) dimensions and bridging differ across vertical growth patterns. This study aimed to evaluate ST morphology and the prevalence of sella turcica bridging (STB) among different vertical growth patterns and between sexes using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). METHODS: A total of 225 Taiwanese adults (117 males, 108 females) were included and classified into high-, average-, and low-angle groups based on the SN-MP angle. ST dimensions and STB were assessed using CBCT. Sex- and growth pattern-based differences were analyzed u
