Sperm cells can be damaged during the semen cryopreservation process, decreasing their fertilizing ability. Physical damage and oxidative stress may occur during the freeze-thawing process. Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a neurogenetic disorder that leads to elevated mechanistic targeting of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1) activity.
