The effect of delayed intracanal calcium hydroxide treatment on experimentally induced extensive inflammatory root resorption in monkeys was studied. A significant shift from inflammatory resorption to ankylosis was noted following calcium hydroxide treatment. PURPOSE: In February 2011, the Food and Drug Administration issued a postmarket surveillance order to all manufacturers of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) implants in the United States. The objective of the present study was to measure implant subsequent surgical intervention (SSI) among patients who had undergone TMJ reconstruction with the Biomet TMJ replacement system (Zimmer Biomet, Warsaw, IN).

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the therapeutic effect of intra-canal application of chlorhexidine on inflammatory root resorption. Dental pulps from monkey incisors were infected and resealed prior to extraction of the teeth. Root dentin was mechanically exposed and the teeth were replanted under aseptic conditions. This case report describes the treatment of a 16-year-old girl with ankylosed maxillary central incisors that were noticeably infraoccluded and labially displaced. We performed a segmental osteotomy with an autogenous bone graft in a single-stage surgery to align and level the ankylosed teeth. The dento-osseous segment was successfully repositioned with satisfactory periodontal results.

This study evaluated the use of zoledronic acid, a resorption inhibitor, as a medication for root resorption treatment of late replanted teeth.
