Recently, botulinum toxin type B (BT-B) was introduced for treatment of cervical dystonia (CD). We wish to report on experience with BT-B derived from registration studies and from our own preliminary clinical experience. Botulinum toxin type B can be used successfully in CD patients with antibody-induced failure of botulinum toxin type A therapy (antibody patients). Although Tityus trivitattus is the only scorpion species reported to cause severe human envenomation in Argentina, no previous studies on its venom have been done. Telson homogenates from T. trivitattus specimens collected in Santiago del Estero, Cordoba, and Buenos Aires were employed to study their protein composition and toxicity to mice. This study was undertaken to analyse the clinical and immunological features in a large group of Lambert-Eaton Myasthenic Syndrome (LEMS) patients (n = 110). In the Japanese LEMS patients studied, there was a male predominance with a male to female ratio of 3:1. A number of phenomenologic studies have demonstrated the marked heterogeneity of unipolar depressive disorders. We have recently identified a subtype of depression characterized by the presence of irritability and anger attacks. These attacks are sudden spells of anger accompanied by symptoms of autonomic activation such as tachycardia, sweating, flushing, and tightness of the chest. We report two cases of folliculosebaceous poroma (holocrine poroma) harboring gene rearrangements involving members of the p21-activated kinase (PAK) family.
