The purpose of this study was to evaluate the outcome in neonates with congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) either presenting within the first 24 h of life or diagnosed prenatally. The study was particularly focused on the time of onset of respiratory distress and on the use of the Gore-Tex (GT) patch for diaphragmatic reconstruction. BACKGROUND: Injection of filler materials into the dermis is well tolerated, with few mild and transient side effects. Injection necrosis is a rare but clinically important potential complication caused by interruption of the vascular supply to the area by compression, injury, and/or obstruction of the vessel(s). The glabella is a particular danger zone for injection necrosis regardless of the type of filler used.
OBJECTIVE: We recommend a protocol that may be used to help prevent and treat injection necrosis of the glabella after injection with dermal fillers.

Transcutaneous vocal cord augmentation has increasingly become the method of choice when treating causes of vocal cord insufficiency. Many substances have accompanied this technique, but they all have problems. One newer substance is calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA). CaHA may produce fewer problems and offer a longer-lasting treatment. OBJECT: Coil embolization of aneurysms has been shown to be as safe and effective as surgical clip ligation, but has a higher recurrence rate. Advances in coil technology aim to reduce aneurysm recurrence by coating the devices with biological substances. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate and compare histological tissue reactions of the urinary bladder to human cadaveric fascia lata (CFX) slings and synthetic mesh.
METHODS: Thirty rabbits were randomized to three groups: group A (multifilament - Surgipro Mesh) 12 animals, group B (CFX) 12 animals, and group C (surgical controls) 6 animals.
