INTRODUCTION: Fibronectin glomerulopathy is a rare autosomal dominant disorder characterized by abnormal deposition of fibronectin within the kidney. It is associated with several variant mutations in the FN1 gene. It is a disorder predominantly characterized by proteinuria that can reach the nephrotic range, and it has been primarily described in Asian and White populations. We report the case of a 23-year-old woman with an erythematous, crusted patch of the scalp, lacking pustular lesions, with partial hair loss, developed after mechanical scalp trauma. Malignant melanoma is a well-known diagnostic pitfall, given its propensity to metastasize to different sites and mimic various entities. Although melanoma is an aggressive cancer, the understanding of the virulence-conferring pathways involved remains incomplete.
