Resistance and Aerobic Preconditioning Delays Unloading-Induced Multisystemic Physiological Changes: The NEBULA Project.

Spaceflight is considered an extreme environment, and from the first days of flight, microgravity causes significant modifications in several physiological systems, particularly the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, immunological, and nervous systems. To safeguard astronauts' health on upcoming trips, it is crucial to better counteract microgravity's effects using the best prevention methods. With this objective, we launched the NEBULA (Nutrition and Exercise Biology for UnLoaded Astronauts) collaborative research project. The first phase of NEBULA investigates whether a targeted high-intensity

Sacred Birth, Clean Hands: Infection Prevention as Ritual and Practice among Traditional Birth Attendants in Mayuge District, East Central Uganda.

UNLABELLED: This study explored how Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) in rural Uganda implement infection prevention and control (IPC) through a blend of cultural traditions and hygiene practices. Using ethnographic methods, including interviews and observations, it found that TBAs view cleanliness as both a sacred obligation and a critical part of protecting maternal health. Despite facing limited training and resources, TBAs showed a strong commitment to infection prevention, positioning them as essential yet often under-recognized actors in maternal care. Single-Bout Strength: Acute Mental Health Responses to Resistance Training in Active Adults.

BACKGROUND: Emerging evidence highlights the role of physical exercise as a non-pharmacological intervention for reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression. While most research has focused on aerobic modalities and chronic training programs, the acute psychological impact of resistance training (RT)-particularly in healthy, active individuals-remains underexplored. This study addresses this gap by evaluating the immediate effects of a single RT session on anxiety and depression in healthy, active individuals. METHODS: Fifty-six healthy, physically active participants (43 males, 13 females; M

Assessing generalizability of a dengue classifier across multiple datasets.

Early diagnosis of dengue fever is important for individual treatment and monitoring disease prevalence in the population. To assist diagnosis, previous studies have proposed classification models to detect dengue from symptoms and clinical measurements. However, there has been little exploration of whether existing models can be used to make predictions for new populations. In this study, we assess the generalizability of dengue classification models to new datasets. We trained logistic regression models on five publicly available dengue datasets from previous studies, using three explanatory
