A Network Pharmacology Review of Plant-Derived Anticancer Compounds in Lung, Breast, Colorectal and Prostate Cancer.

Lung, breast, colorectal and prostate cancer account for over 41% of global cancer incidence and 39% of mortality, yet durable control of advanced disease remains limited. Plant secondary metabolites are promising multitarget leads, but their polypharmacological mechanisms cannot be captured by single-target approaches, and the evidence across these four cancers has not been synthesised within a unified framework. This review provides an integrated comparative analysis of network-pharmacology studies of plant-derived anticancer compounds across the four cancers, cataloguing phytochemical profi

Bridging the vaccine gap: Scientific and technological advances for diseases lacking effective vaccines.

Despite remarkable achievements in infectious disease control, more than 20 major pathogens responsible for significant global morbidity and mortality remain without licensed, effective vaccines. This so-called 'vaccine gap' disproportionately burdens low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), exacerbating health inequities and threatening global pandemic preparedness. This review comprehensively examines scientific and technological advances that are actively bridging the vaccine gap, with emphasis on novel platform technologies, immunological innovations, and translational strategies. We cond

Using minor variant genomes and machine learning to study the genome biology of SARS-CoV-2 over time.

In infected individuals, viruses are present as a population consisting of dominant and minor variant genomes. Most databases contain information on the dominant genome sequence. Since the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 in late 2019, variants have been selected that are more transmissible and capable of partial immune escape. Currently, models for projecting the evolution of SARS-CoV-2 are based on using dominant genome sequences to forecast whether a known mutation will be prevalent in the future. However, novel variants of SARS-CoV-2 (and other viruses) are driven by evolutionary pressure acting on

hsa-miR-22-3p-Mediated Exosome Release From Neurons Induces Apoptosis in Recipient Glial and Neuronal Cells in Parkinson's Disease Stress Conditions.

Exosome-mediated intercellular communication between different cell types and brain regions is essential for the homeostasis of the nervous system and any dysfunctions lead to the progression of several neurodegenerative disorders including Parkinson's disease (PD). Exosome biogenesis and release from the specific cell types are modulated by interorganellar crosstalk, and the transfer of exosomal cargo influences the functional outcome in the recipient cells. The miRNA-mRNA interaction modulates mRNA translation and stability; yet the understanding of specific miRNAs modulating exosome release
