Over a period of 13 years 21 patients between the ages of three weeks and 13 years presenting to this centre had a vascular ring. Endoscopic sphincterotomy is the procedure of choice for choledocholithiasis in patients who have had a cholecystectomy. The bile duct is cleared of stones in about 80 to 90 percent of patients. A prospective study was carried out in 12 consecutive patients (7 boys and 5 girls), to evaluate posterior sagittal anorectoplasty for patients incontinent of faeces after anorectal reconstruction. Acute visual loss, pain, and redness in the left eye developed in a 61-year-old diabetic man. Results of ophthalmologic examination showed 4+ conjunctival hyperemia and chemosis, no light perception, and restricted ocular motility. Through a hazy cornea, a gas bubble was visualized filling about 50% of the anterior chamber. A vitreous tap disclosed myriad gram-positive rods with terminal and subterminal spores. Cultures of the vitreous grew Clostridium septicum, a gas-forming organism. Exploratory abdominal laparotomy showed a ruptured diverticulum of the sigmoid colon with acute peritonitis.

Four cases of giant inflammatory polyps were found in a series of 86 consecutive colectomies for inflammatory bowel disease. Two presented a distinctive clinical syndrome of abdominal pain and chronic iron-deficiency anemia due to blood loss. Gross and subgross anatomical observations of the penis pointed to a mechanical arrangement whereby contraction of the bulbocavernosus (BC) muscles would enhance erections of the glans penis and contraction of the ischiocavernosus (IC) muscles would enhance or produce penis flips. Perforated diverticulitis is a rare but serious complication associated with a significant mortality rate. BACKGROUND: Myaesthenia Gravis is an autoimmune disorder that results in increased sensitivity to neuromuscular blockers. Anaesthesia and surgery in patients with Myaesthenia Gravis is associated with an increased incidence of complications, including post operative ventilation. We describe a modification of the Koyanagi technique for hypospadias in an attempt to reduce complications and improve results.
