Thyroid state study was been carried out for Chernobyl NPP accident liquidators living in Ozyorsk, the city, located in the nuclear facility affected zone (Mayak PA). In total 531 individuals were examined. Ipomoea aquatica with low-energy N+ ion implantation was used for the removal of both nitrogen and phosphorus from the eutrophic Chaohu Lake, China. In the present study, we investigated the hepatoprotective and antioxidant capacities of ethanol extract of Phellinus merrillii (PM) on carbon tetrachloride-induced hepatotoxicity. Perinatal mortality and stillbirths were investigated in an extensively managed herd of Friesian cows and heifers calving over a 2-year period: 504 cows were calved and 215 heifers. Cows were bred to Friesian and Jersey bulls using natural service. The perinatal fetal mortality rate was 7.5% for cows and 30% for heifers. An experienced stockman managed these calvings and veterinary assistance was required only on nine occasions. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of melatonin on the intestinal apoptosis along with oxidative damage in endotoxemic infant rats.
DESIGN AND SETTING: Prospective animal study in a university-based experimental research laboratory.
SUBJECTS AND INTERVENTIONS: Wistar albino 7-day-old rat pups (n=21). The animals were randomized into three experimental groups: (1) controls; (2) endotoxemia; (3) endotoxemia treated with melatonin (10mg/kg). UNLABELLED: We describe the clinical and immunological features of two families with chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis (CMC) and primary hypothyroidism. The biochemical mechanism of carbon tetrachloride transformation by poplar cells was investigated using an axenic poplar cell culture.
