INTRODUCTION: Hip range of motion (ROM) across various planes is necessary in sport-related activities. Static stretching was commonly used to improve hip ROM. The Lightback system, a novel compression device, has been developed to enhance hip mobility by applying controlled axial forces on the femur. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the Lightback system in improving hip ROM and posterior chain flexibility compared to conventional static stretching.
METHODS: A randomized cross-over trial was carried out in 31 physically active participants (62 lower limbs; n = 31 Lightback gr

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate whether femoral head diameter and head-to-neck ratio (HNR) influence prosthetic impingement-free motion (IFM) in canine total hip replacement (THR) using a press-fit cementless hip system in silico.
METHODS: This was a descriptive study conducted from January through June 2025. Twenty-eight head-neck combinations were assembled using 3-D stereolithographic files of cementless THR implants (Universal Hip System; BioMedtrix). For each implant combination, IFM was evaluated using a custom-built computer simulation software program around 3 orthogonal axes: abduction-adduct

PURPOSE: Vibrational stimulation was suggested sufficient to acutely enhance range of motion (ROM). However, the actual merit of superimposed vibration and underlying mechanical or sensory mechanisms of ROM increases due to local vibration are not well understood.
METHODS: Using a randomized controlled cross-over trial, this study opposed two minutes of stretching + vibration (STV) to vibration (V) and stretching (ST) alone as well as a passive control (CG) in 30 healthy, recreationally active participants. Pre- and post-intervention measurements of ankle dorsiflexion ROM, ankle passive torqu

Objective: Although Global Postural Re-education (GPR) is widely used for musculoskeletal conditions, its specific benefits for this population remain unclear due to inconsistent findings across studies. This systematic review aims to analyze the effects of GPR on pain intensity, functionality, and range of motion (ROM) in individuals with chronic non-specific neck pain. Methods: Computerized search was performed in the Cochrane CENTRAL, Lilacs, EBSCO, PEDro, Pubmed, RCAAP and Scielo databases using the keyword combination ("Global Postural Rehabilitation" OR "Global Postural Reeducation" OR "

BACKGROUND: Fabry disease (FD) is a rare inherited X-linked lysosomal disorder caused by the deficiency or dysfunction of the enzyme α-galactosidase. This leads to a detrimental accumulation of globotriaosylceramide (Gb3) within multiple cell types. Enzyme replacement therapies (ERTs), including agalsidase alfa and agalsidase beta, can diminish Gb3 levels. Published real-world data on the time, cost and burden associated with the administration of ERTs are limited. These evidence gaps were addressed by generating real-world data quantifying the burden of agalsidase alfa and beta infusions for

With advancing technology, human assistive robots have been developed to enhance daily efficiency for users. Focusing on the reaching motions of the upper limb, this study aims to propose a motion classification method based on electromyographic (EMG) signals that can accurately and promptly differentiate among three distinct types of reaching motion-regular reaching, extended reaching, and weighted reaching-regardless of the motion direction. In the proposed method, the EMG signals of upper limb and torso muscles relevant to these reaching motions are used to identify pivotal features capable

BACKGROUND: Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) is a common group of inherited connective tissue disorders with a prevalence as high as 0.75%-2% of the population. Physical manifestations include pain and decreased proprioception, especially in more mobile joints, such as the shoulder. The kinesiology tape (K-Tape) is often used to treat patients with shoulder dysfunction. The effectiveness of the K-Tape is uncertain, and there is a lack of studies specifically studying the K-Tape in an EDS population.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to compare the short-term effects of two different K-Tape p

BACKGROUND: A subset of patients undergoing anatomic and reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (aTSA and rTSA) lag behind their peers in regaining overhead range of motion (ROM) after surgery. The primary purpose of this study was to compare the rate of recovery of ROM after aTSA and rTSA performed in stiff (preoperative passive external rotation [ER] ≤0 °) versus non-stiff (preoperative passive ER >0°) shoulders with RCI-GHOA.
HYPOTHESIS: We hypothesized that preoperatively stiff shoulders (preoperative passive ER ≤0 °) would have slower recovery in ROM postoperatively with lower postoperative

PURPOSE: Studies on functional recovery after pediatric forearm fractures are scarce. Outcome measures are usually (retrospectively) incorporated to compare treatments. How these parameters recover has only rarely fallen within the scope. Aim was to provide insight into "normal recovery" by evaluating how limitations, post-traumatic symptoms, range of motion (ROM) and dexterity recuperate.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Prospective observational study regarding children 4 and 18 years with a reduced forearm fracture. Limitations, post-traumatic symptoms, ROM, and dexterity were evaluated 6 weeks, 3 a
