UNLABELLED: The iliopsoas and adductor tendons are often soft tissue barriers obstructing relocation of the femoral head into the acetabulum and are frequently released to obtain reduction. We report a case of cement leakage into the posterior spinal canal due to inadvertent pedicle perforation during balloon kyphoplasty. The leakage was corrected immediately without any sequelae. Features seen on radiography and the minimally invasive procedure used for removal are described. The postoperative radiographs of 100 consecutive patients treated with balloon kyphoplasty were subsequently reviewed. Only one patient had a similar leakage but had no neurological complications.

We report on a series of 27 orthopaedic surgical procedures. It includes 20 radiosynoviortheses and seven major orthopaedic procedures, performed on 26 patients. The average age of patients was 36 years (range: 8-53) and the average follow-up time was 2.5 years (range:1-5). There were 23 good results and four fair. The Taylor spatial frame is a unique external fixator. Despite its growing popularity, few reports on its use have been published.
