Potential Value of FAPI PET/CT in the Detection and Treatment of Fibrosing Mediastinitis: Preclinical and Pilot Clinical Investigation.

Fibrosing mediastinitis (FM) is a rare proliferative disease within the mediastinum that leads to pulmonary hypertension, which has been regarded as a major cause of death. This study aims to evaluate the potential value of fibroblast activation protein inhibitor (FAPI)-PET/CT in the integration of diagnosis and treatment of FM through targeting FAPI in fibrosis rats and provide a theoretical basis for clinical management of FM patients. By performing a 18F-FAPI PET/CT scan, the presence of FAPI-avid in the fibrotic lesion was determined. Through a fibrosis rat model, 18F-FAPI-74 was used for

Cost-Effectiveness Analysis of 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/MRI in Radiotherapy Planning in Patients with Intermediate-Risk Meningioma.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: While contrast-enhanced MR imaging is the criterion standard in meningioma diagnosis and treatment response assessment, gallium 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/MR imaging has increasingly demonstrated utility in meningioma diagnosis and management. Integrating 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/MR imaging in postsurgical radiation planning reduces the planning target volume and organ-at-risk dose. However, 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/MR imaging is not widely implemented in clinical practice due to higher perceived costs. Our study analyzes the cost-effectiveness of 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/MR imaging for postresectio

Prognostic value of interim 18F-FDG PET/CT in adult follicular lymphoma treated with R-CHOP.

PURPOSE: The prognostic value of interim 18F-FDG PET/CT (I-PET) for follicular lymphoma (FL) is controversial, and may be related to the lack of strict standards in terms of age, chemotherapy regimen, and evaluation criteria in previous studies. This study aimed to investigate the prognostic value of I-PET in adult FL patients treated with R-CHOP. METHODS: I-PET was performed in 30 adult FL patients after treatment with 3-5 cycles of R-CHOP. PET/CT images were assessed using the Deauville 5-point scale (D-5PS) criteria. Baseline PET/CT (B-PET) was performed in 24 of the patients with FL befor

Serial 68Ga-FAPI PET/CT After Treatment of Immunoglobulin G4-Related Pancreatitis and Retroperitoneal Fibrosis.

Immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4)-related disease is a fibroinflammatory condition involving diverse organs. We report a case of IgG4-related pancreatitis and retroperitoneal fibrosis with serial 68Ga-FAPI PET/CT scans after treatment. A 64-year-old man presented with left flank and epigastric pain. Laboratory, abdominal CT, and 68Ga-FAPI PET/CT findings were suggestive of IgG4-related pancreatitis and retroperitoneal fibrosis. Histology of the pancreas confirmed IgG4-related pancreatitis. The follow-up PET/CT scans after treatment with steroid therapy showed regression of 68Ga-FAPI uptake in the pancr

PSMA-Hornet: Fully-automated, multi-target segmentation of healthy organs in PSMA PET/CT images.

BACKGROUND: Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) PET imaging represents a valuable source of information reflecting disease stage, response rate, and treatment optimization options, particularly with PSMA radioligand therapy. Quantification of radiopharmaceutical uptake in healthy organs from PSMA images has the potential to minimize toxicity by extrapolation of the radiation dose delivery towards personalization of therapy. However, segmentation and quantification of uptake in organs requires labor-intensive organ delineations that are often not feasible in the clinic nor scalable for la

Amyloid and tau PET in cerebral amyloid angiopathy-related inflammation two case reports and literature review.

BACKGROUND: Cerebral amyloid angiopathy-related inflammation (CAA-ri) is a clinical syndrome characterized by MRI findings of amyloid-related imaging abnormalities-edema (ARIA-E) suggestive of autoimmune and inflammatory reaction and hemorrhagic evidence of cerebral amyloid angiopathy. The longitudinal variation of amyloid PET and its imaging association with CAA-ri are undetermined. Moreover, tau PET in CAA-ri has been rarely investigated. METHOD: We retrospectively described two cases of CAA-ri. We provided the temporal change of amyloid and tau PET in the first case, and the cross-sectiona

Whole-Body 18 F-FDG PET/CT Patlak Parametric Imaging of Hepatic Alveolar Echinococcosis.

We present dynamic 18 F-FDG PET/CT acquisition in a 52-year-old old woman with histologically proven hepatic alveolar echinococcosis (AE). Metabolic rate of FDG images generated with traditional and relative Patlak analysis show the AE manifestation in the liver significantly better the static SUV images. Dynamic PET may thus have the potential to increase sensitivity in the assessment of hepatic AE manifestations. Such parametric images may offer complementary qualitative information and quantification superior to SUV images.

Additional Role of Midbrain F-18 FP-CIT Uptake on PET in Evaluation of Essential Tremor and Parkinsonism.

BACKGROUND: Parkinsonism is a term used for the collection of clinical features that cause movement disorders similar to those in Parkinson's disease. Accurate differentiation of these disorders is critical for the treatment and prognosis of any disease. Fluorine-18 N-(3-fluoropropyl)-2β- carboxymethoxy-3β-(4-iodophenyl) nortropane (F-18 FP-CIT) has been used in the evaluation of parkinsonism by its uptake in the dopamine active transporter (DAT) of the striatum. Its uptake in other areas of the brain, such as serotonin transporter (SERT) in the midbrain or thalamus, is also recognised. OBJEC

Kinetic parameter estimation of hepatocellular carcinoma on 18 F-FDG PET/CT based on Bayesian method.

BACKGROUND: Dynamic PET/CT combined with a dual-input three-compartment model can be applied to assess the kinetic parameters of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The nonlinear least squares (NLLS) method is the most common method for fitting model parameters; however, some limitations remain. PURPOSE: A novel Bayesian-based method was compared with the NLLS method to estimate the kinetic parameters for differentiating HCCs from background liver tissue. METHODS: The proposed Bayesian method combined a priori knowledge of the physiological range and likelihood functions of HCC lesions to obtain

Optimal timing of interictal FDG-PET for epilepsy surgery: A systematic review on time since last seizure.

Interictal 18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (FDG-PET) is used in the workup for epilepsy surgery when MRI and EEG video monitoring are not conclusive. Timing of FDG-PET is crucial to avoid the metabolically dynamic (post)ictal state that complicates interpretation, but the exact time window is unclear. We performed a systematic review to provide an evidence-based recommendation for the minimal time interval between last seizure and FDG-PET acquisition. We searched PubMed and Embase for articles on the effect of time since last seizure on FDG-PET outcome. Quality assessment w
