We report the first New Zealand case of Anncaliia algerae myositis in a 55-year-old man with a history of psoriatic arthritis, treated with long-term immunosuppressive therapy. He resided in the city of Rotorua, which is famous for geothermal hot springs. A vastus lateralis muscle biopsy was performed to investigate the cause of an unexplained myositis. This study investigates socio-demographic characteristics and resilience and depressive symptoms among Korean Americans (KAs) with traumatic life experiences. Community-residing 285 KAs living in New York City and Teaneck, New Jersey completed questionnaires measuring traumatic life experiences, depressive symptoms, and resilience. Descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlations, and two-step hierarchical multiple regression analyses were conducted. 54% of KAs with traumatic life experiences reported at least mild depressive symptoms; greater resilience was associated with fewer such symptoms.

Oguchi disease is a rare form of congenital stationary night blindness with an autosomal recessive inheritance pattern. The presence of S‑antigen (SAG) and G‑protein‑dependent receptor kinase 1 (GRK1) mutations were investigated in the family members with Oguchi disease. This study focuses on the occurrence of falls and related factors among elderly individuals living in long-term care institutions in Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil. This study examined the patterns and correlates of group and organizational involvement among persons with psychiatric disabilities using a cross-sectional, probability sample of 252 residents in supported independent housing (SIH). Groups and organizations were classified according to whether or not they have a behavioral health focus. The internal consistency and the diagnostic value of a test for apraxia in patients having had a stroke are presented. Results indicate that the items of the test form a strong and consistent scale: Cronbach's alpha as well as the results of a Mokken scale analysis present good reliability and good scalability. The prevalence of mild mental retardation (MMR) (IQ 50-72) was investigated in a Swedish suburban municipality with special demographic characteristics. The study population consisted of the 6397 children aged 9-15 years residing in the municipality on December 31, 1994. A total of 82 children fulfilled psychometric and adaptive criteria of MMR, corresponding to a prevalence of 12.8/1000.
