Recently, interest about glenoid resurfacing with lateral meniscus in osteoarthritis of the shoulder has been increasing. Aim of this study is to evaluate the results of this procedure, from a clinical and a radiographic point of view. Constant score, DASH (Disability of the Arm, Shoulder, and Elbow) questionnaire, some specific questions about satisfaction after surgery, and radiographic exams were performed pre-operatively and post-operatively, at a minimum follow-up of 2 years. Constant score improved from 49.8 to 66.2. 84.4% of the patients were satisfied. Mean Dash was about 24.2 points.

Patients with hemiplegic cerebral palsy often have noticeably deviant arm posture and decreased arm movement. Here we develop a comprehensive assessment method for the upper extremity during walking. We report the case of an eight-month-old girl who presented with a poliomyelitis-like paralysis in her left upper limb caused by enterovirus 71 infection. She recovered useful function after nerve transfers performed six months after the onset of paralysis. Early neurotisation can be used successfully in the treatment of poliomyelitis-like paralysis in children.

BACKGROUND: Collision athletes are reported to be at high risk for redislocation after anterior stabilization of shoulder instability. Some authors have suggested that arthroscopic stabilization produces results similar to those of open stabilization.
PURPOSE: To evaluate the results of anterior shoulder stabilization in collision athletes and to compare the clinical results between the arthroscopic and open methods.
HYPOTHESIS: Open stabilization might produce better results than does arthroscopic stabilization in collision athletes.

A follow-up study of 111 out of 112 patients operated on for shoulder joint dislocation according to the Bristow-Latarjet procedure during the years 1975 through 1979 in four Swedish hospitals is presented.
