Coronary artery ectasia, a variant of coronary atherosclerosis, is a relatively rare entity. Review of literature did not reveal an exclusive study on isolated ectasia. We decided to analyse the clinical presentation and angiographic prevalence of this subset. AIM: To assess efficacy of different methods of iodine prophylaxis in pregnant women living in conditions of goiter endemia.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: Standard clinical, laboratory and device tests for iodine deficiency according to WHO criteria were made in 156 pregnant women living in the territory affected by goiter endemia. Of them, 121 examinees had no thyroid pathology, 35 ones had diffuse euthyroid goiter. All of them received different kinds of iodine prophylaxis.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the rate of health care provider offer of varicella vaccine to parents and the most important determinants of parental decision to accept the offer.

This paper reviews the present knowledge about the cellular origins of vigilance states (wakefulness and slow-wave sleep) from the perspective of their involvement in the triggering of epileptic seizures.
