Evaluating the length, diameter, and stenosis of deep circumflex iliac artery and neighboring arteries based on digital subtraction angiography.

BACKGROUND: The vascularized iliac bone crest flap offers excellent usable bone in terms of volume and quality. Its nourishing vessel, the deep circumflex iliac artery (DCIA), although relatively short, is reliable vessel. Digital subtraction angiography presents still the gold standard for diagnostic purpose. However, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) angiography is used for preoperative planning with low morbidity. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the gainable information using digital subtraction angiography (DSA) as compared to other imaging modalities.

Evaluation of stable angina by coronary computed tomographic angiography versus standard of care: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

INTRODUCTION: There is limited data comparing Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography (CCTA) versus the usual Standard of care (SOC) in patients with suspected stable coronary artery disease (CAD). We aimed to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis to compare CCTA versus SOC in patients with stable CAD. METHODS: We searched multiple databases for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing CCTA with SOC, which included various functional testing approaches for evaluating stable CAD. We used a random-effects model to calculate risk ratios (RRs) with 95 % confidence intervals (CIs). O

Coronary Angiography in Patients With Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest Without ST-Segment Elevation on Electrocardiograms: A Comprehensive Review.

Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is among the most common causes of death in the United States. Early coronary angiography (CAG) and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) have been associated with improved long-term outcomes in patients with ST-segment elevation (STE) on prearrest or postarrest electrocardiograms. However, data on the utility of catheterization and PCI for improving outcomes after OHCA in patients without STE on electrocardiograms are heterogeneous, with variable results. Although older data have suggested that there is a benefit, recent randomized controlled trials ha

Combined assessment of stress cardiovascular magnetic resonance and angiography to predict the effect of revascularization in chronic coronary syndrome patients.

AIMS: The role of revascularization in chronic coronary syndrome (CCS) and the value of ischaemia vs. anatomy to guide decision-making are in constant debate. We explored the potential of a combined assessment of ischaemic burden by vasodilator stress cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) and presence of multivessel disease by angiography to predict the effect of revascularization on all-cause mortality in CCS. METHODS AND RESULTS: The study group comprised 1066 CCS patients submitted to vasodilator stress CMR pre-cardiac catheterization (mean age 66 ± 11 years, 69% male). Stress CMR-derive

Immediate coronary angiography and systematic targeted temperature management are associated with improved outcome in comatose survivors of cardiac arrest.

Rapid and systematic access to coronary angiography (CAG) and target temperature management (TTM) might improve outcome in comatose patients who survive cardiac arrest (CA). However, there is controversy around indicating immediate CAG in the absence of transmural ischemia on the electrocardiogram after return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC). We evaluated the short- and long-term outcome of patients undergoing systematic CAG and TTM, based on whether culprit lesion percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) was performed. All consecutive comatose CA survivors without obvious extra-cardiac caus
