Five bacterial isolates were screened for resistance to organotin compound, i.e. tributyltin chloride (TBTC) up to 2 mM. We focus on the estimation of the probability for the exposure to exceed a fixed safe level such as the provisional tolerable weekly intake (PTWI), when both consumption data and contamination data are independently available. A total of 15 cases of peripherally located lung carcinomas associated with scar (scar carcinoma) were studied by light microscopy and electron microscopy with energy-dispersive X-ray microanalysis (XMA). Water samples were obtained from 128 private water wells surrounding eight oil field waste sites in Vermilion Parish.
