Recent advances in the application of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMMSC) for the treatment of tendon and ligament injuries in the horse suggest improved outcome measures in both experimental and clinical studies. Although the BMMSC are implanted into the tendon lesion in large numbers (usually 10 - 20 million cells), only a relatively small number survive (<10%) although these can persist for up to 5 months after implantation. Naja naja karachiensis have been responsible for plentiful deaths in Pakistan. To investigate bio distribution and blood kinetics, venom was labeled with the radiotracer (technetium-99m) by following the method of direct labeling technique. Its maximum labeling percentage was 97.7% (pH 6, 100 µg stannous chloride dihydrate) which was higher than some other reported venom. Radio labeled venom was stable for more than 4 hours both in vivo (96%) and in vitro (serum 94.1%, saline 94.3%) experimentations. Breast cancer is the most-common cancer among women worldwide, and over one-third of all cases diagnosed annually are nonpalpable at diagnosis. The increasingly widespread implementation of breast-screening programmes, combined with the use of advanced imaging modalities, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), will further increase the numbers of patients diagnosed with this disease. The current standard management for nonpalpable breast cancer is localized surgical excision combined with axillary staging, using sentinel-lymph-node biopsy in the clinically and radiologically normal axilla.

BACKGROUND: Tc-99 sestamibi (MIBI) scan is the imaging study most frequently used in primary hyperparathyroidism (PHP). Transcutaneous cervical ultrasonography (US) is the other modality used for preoperative localization. The aim of this study was to determine whether surgeon-performed neck US can be used as the primary localizing study in PHP.
METHODS: This was a prospective study of 1,000 consecutive patients with first-time, sporadic PHP who underwent parathyroidectomy at a tertiary academic center. All patients had surgeon-performed neck US and MIBI before bilateral neck exploration.

The use of sentinel lymph node biopsy in squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity is still subject to debate although some studies have reported its feasibility. The main reason for this debate is probably due to the high false-negative rate for floor-of-mouth tumors per se. Vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) is a well-recognized condition in the pediatric population, but is less well described in the adult population, and its prevalence decreases with increasing age. We describe the case of a 53-year-old male with nonfunctional kidney in which accumulation of radioactivity was observed in the ureter and renal pelvis owing to VUR, which was detected by technetium-99m diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid dynamic renal scintigraphy.

Our aim was to develop a practical method to prepare 68Ga-citrate using a SnO2-based 68Ge/68Ga generator and evaluate its use in infection imaging. 68Ga-citrate synthesis was performed in a straight forward, quantitative, one-step-aseptic procedure; an amended labeling method was applied using ACD-A buffered citrate as a precursor. A 45-year-old woman with type 2 diabetes and multiple diabetic complications was diagnosed with hypoparathyroid hypercalcaemia. The bone scintigraphy showed Charcots arthropathy. Blood tests, computer tomography and mammography did not give any indication of malignancy, vitamin-D intoxication nor hyperthyroidism. Charcots arthropathy is not a recognized cause of hypoparathyroid hypercalcaemia, but the mechanism might be increased boneresorption. We recommend that Charcots arthropathy is considered a cause of hypoparathyroid hypercalcaemia in patients with diabetic neuropathy.
