We report a successful treatment with rituximab in the case of rheumatoid vasculitis causing digital tips necrosis in exacerbated rheumatoid arthritis. The vasculitis lesions did not respond completely to intravenous methylprednisolone and cyclophosphamide but responded on rituximab treatment. Deep necrosis of a digital tip resolved entirely after completing a course of rituximab.

A randomized comparison trial was performed to evaluate whether follicular reaspiration with use of a double-lumen retrieval needle improves oocyte recovery when compared with direct follicular aspiration among low-responding patients undergoing ART. There were no differences observed in the number of oocytes retrieved (single lumen: 6.5 +/- 2.2 oocytes, double lumen: 7.2 +/- 2.3 oocytes) whereas follicular reaspiration with the double-lumen retrieval needle resulted in a twofold increase in procedure time.

We assessed the results of the modified Eden-Hybinette operation as a salvage procedure after failure of an index Latarjet. Outcomes, complications, and evidence of arthritis of the glenohumeral joint were evaluated in 46 patients. Pemphigus vulgaris is an uncommon autoimmune blistering skin disorder that is particularly rare in children. Immunosuppressive treatment can be challenging. Rituximab (anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody) has been used to treat autoimmune disorders by depletion of CD20 B cells. Successful rituximab therapy has been reported in adults with refractory pemphigus vulgaris. We present a girl with childhood pemphigus vulgaris unresponsive to treatment with azathioprine, mycophenolate mofetil, plasmapheresis, and intravenous immunoglobulin with systemic prednisone who responded to treatment with rituximab.

BACKGROUND: In glaucoma eyes in which the pressure regulation was not possible with drugs and surgery or which were blind already, we treated the patients with a Molteno implant by von Denffer.

The course of the combined infection (tuberculosis plus HIV-infection) has been analysed in 41 patients. Of them, 24 patients developed tuberculosis in the presence of HIV-infection (group 1) and 17 were infected with HIV when they already had tuberculosis running up to 5 years.
