BACKGROUND: Heart failure is a global problem affecting millions of people worldwide. Current care of heart failure patients follows standard protocols and often overlooks the patients' specific needs, which leads to low compliance in the rehabilitation phase. INTRODUCTION: Intervertebral discs are part of the vertebral column and are considered the pads that help in cushioning and flexibility. These discs consist of nucleus pulposus, annulus fibrosus, and cartilage end plate and their major functions include spinal motion and loading. However, they are prone to numerous pathologies such as intradiscal hematoma and discal cyst formation that may significantly alter the biomechanics of the spine and hence the quality of life of the patient. OBJECTIVE: The concept of minimally invasive endodontics recommends less-invasive vital pulp therapy (VPT) modalities over more aggressive traditional endodontic approaches in mature permanent teeth with carious pulp exposure, including irreversible pulpitis (IP) cases. Consequently, VPT needs to be compared with root canal therapy (RCT) in terms of treatment outcomes. This randomized clinical trial compares the results of full pulpotomy using two calcium-silicate cements, i.e., mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) and calcium-enriched mixture (CEM) cement, with RCT in mature permanent teeth.

CONTEXT: Pain is commonly experienced among patients after surgical procedures. Clinical pain management after surgery is far from being successful. Patients may control postoperative pain by self-administration of intravenous opioids using devices designed for this purpose (patient-controlled analgesia or PCA).
