Longitudinal automated lipid target monitoring integrated into a laboratory-based clinical decision support system: a real-world cardiovascular risk management approach.

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate a laboratory-integrated CDSS for lipid monitoring after cardiovascular risk classification. METHODS: An opportunistic laboratory-based CDSS was implemented at Hospital La Fe (València), for primary care lipid requests. Cardiovascular risk was assigned hierarchically by combining direct ESC/EAS guideline-based clinical staging with structured reuse of Lp(a)-adjusted SCORE2-, SCORE2-OP-, or SCORE2-Diabetes-based risk estimations generated by a separate CDSS. The highest risk category prevailed, and new relevant conditions triggered automatic reassessment. LDL-C target at

Automated full-process pipeline via multi-parametric MRI for tumor segmentation, molecular subtype classification and prognostic factor analysis in breast cancer.

BACKGROUND: Accurate identification of molecular subtypes and prognostic factors is crucial for personalized breast cancer management. Multi-parametric magnetic resonance imaging (mp-MRI) offers comprehensive, non-invasive characterization of tumors by capturing complementary information on morphology, perfusion, and tissue microstructure, but conventional radiologic assessment is often inadequate for reliably inferring molecular subtype or prognostic factors. Existing deep learning (DL) approaches depend on manually delineated tumor regions to define inputs, which is difficult to scale in rou

Automated insulin delivery in women with type 1 diabetes during the peripartum period: Maintaining autonomy while optimizing care - review and clinical evaluation.

In type 1 diabetes, optimal glucose management during the peripartum period is critical to reduce neonatal hypoglycemia shortly after birth as well as maternal hypoglycemia postpartum when insulin requirements fall quickly. Healthcare professionals and their patients must consider the mode of insulin delivery during the peripartum period, meaning either to keep a person's own subcutaneous insulin delivery mode- including automated insulin delivery (AID) systems - or to switch to an intravenous insulin/glucose infusion. In this article, we review continuation of AID systems during the peripartu

The Tensile Expansion Microscopy (TExM) cell stretcher: an iris expansion device integrated with automated real-time autofocus and tracking to super-resolve cells.

UNLABELLED: Mechanical stretchers are used to physically expand biological samples for microscopic studies of mechanobiology. Existing stretchers suffer from limited strain capacity and non-quantifiable forces, along with focus drift and feature-tracking limitations during microscopy. We develop an iris-based cell stretcher that applies isotropic equibiaxial force to achieve aerial strain of 1664% that corresponds to 4.2 x linear expansion for Tensile Expansion Microscopy (TExM), a super-resolution method which increases sample size above the diffraction limit of light. The TExM stretcher uses

A novel zebrafish In vivo phenotype-based high-resolution biochromatography with automated melanin quantification for high-efficient screening natural anti-melanogenic constituents.

High-resolution biochromatography (HRBC) is an efficient technique which couples HPLC separation with bioactivity assays to pinpoint active compounds in herbal extracts. Conventional HRBC mainly relies on in vitro enzyme assays or cellular activity tests and therefore has limited in screening the active compounds with no definite enzyme target or whole-cell models. In this study, a zebrafish in vivo phenotype-based HRBC strategy was developed for the rapid screening anti-melanogenic constituents from the fibrous roots of Bletilla striata. HPLC eluates collected from 30 to 63 min were micro-fra
